Hotel with good wifi or direct connection?

I apologize if this is a repeat question. But, searching for "wifi" gets too many hits.

 

I am a drafter and need to bring my laptop as I am expected to do some work while on vacation. I need to download large autocad files and I remember trying to download at "247 boutique" in oct 2015 and the time was like 5-8 hours or something crazy. That is not acceptable for my upcoming trip.

 

I rather not stay at a super expensive hotel and was thinking along the lines of Page 10 or intimate. Or is there any pc game places around where I can take my laptop and hook up?

Forget about Page 10 hotel. The internet is shit . I stayed there last November

Good luck finding a high speed connection ,,, most hotels I have stayed at in Patts will only have minimium speeds.

If it's that important to you a condo may be a better option.

It mainly seems to be the more expensive ones that have a dedicated line or unshared wifi though.

 

I think I read a guesthouse owner on here saying they had dedicated lines in their rooms? Can't remember which one sorry.

I like the wifi at March hotel. Not super fast but it's the best speed I've found in a Pattaya hotel. Was able to work very comfortably

 

Or a condo might be better, the ones I've stayed in so far all had their own modem in the room.

 

And forget The Stay on Soi 10, their wifi is hopeless

I have decided I will just pack my laptop into my bag and head to a internet cafe. i will pay the cost to use a computer and just ask to give me a wire and a connection to the wall. 

 

second choice is. Since I am staying at w14 (across from secrets) I will ask the owner/management there to use the internet since I heard they have a solid connection. I will of course pay, eat and drink or whatever they want for that connection. I really only need it for a few moments to download my autocad files, then when I am done my work I will need to go back and upload to my company dropbox.

 

eitherway, imma make this happen. Staying at the Hilton or similar is out of the financial option

Another option is with true mobile you get a WiFi access plan with the tourist simply plans which is unlimited usage for WiFi. They have a network broadcasting at Central shopping centre. Not sure on other locations . Think I did a speed test and was getting 50mb down whilst doing some work and having a coffee there
