Swansea City Thread

Live on Sky news Ashley Williams to end his eight-year stint at Swansea City by joining Premier League rivals Everton.

Knew that was going happen as Man city singed John stones

I'm really not to happy the way things are going for my club lately

Just seams Huw Jenkins and his cronies are cashing in AGAIN

The money they have made by selling players they need to be

putting back into the club buying quality players not cheap ones

Yes, BBC Wales reporting this as well:

BREAKING: Swansea City have accepted a bid from Everton - believed to be £12m - for captain Ashley Williams, who will have a medical today.

The Directors have pocketed millions from the sale to dubious new owners with no proper consultation with the Supporters Trust & nothing for the club.

I'm really concerned about the future of the club now.

Yes Davidge I heard it on the radio in car so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he will fit in well and score a lot of goals for us :)

Ashley departure will be a big loss to Swansea , the defence will be a lot weaker this time . Hopefully not !!!!

Manager has said the club are looking for a centre half - but no other signings.

We were meant to be interested in James Chester but it looks like he's going to Villa!

We REALLY need at least one defender. In my opinion, 2 or 3.

Delighted, and relieved, that we've started the season with a 1-0 win at Burnley.

Well done lads!

Amat is as good if not better than Ashley Williams.

Swansea can now actually defend set pieces.

Williams was a good leader but gave away a lot of soft goals

last season.

£12million for a 32 CH who they paid £300k for

was great business.

I do agree they need another quality back up Van Horn and Rondan not enough.

Anyway nice 3 points from a tricky 1st away game always hard playing a newly

promoted team 1st up in a season especially away just ask Leicester how they got

on against Hull yesterday.

Just came across this old photo of the Vetch Field:

I used to sit in the old 'double decker' wooden stand behind the goal.

Seat next to the top of the centre steps in the photo.

We'll be setting off soon.

Have to get to car park early to make sure of getting one of the disabled spaces or it's very difficult getting my mother's wheelchair back to the car after the game.

It will be interesting to see what team Guidolin puts out today.

Well, that was bloody awful.

Whatever the possession stats, I don't think their keeper made a save second half.

Llorente offered little up front & defence looked vulnerable on the break.

Far too many short passes around the area trying to walk it into the net, rather than really going for goal.

It's going to be a VERY long season.

Forgot to say....

We didn't seem to have any leaders on the pitch.

Without Williams there was no-one to grab the others by the scruff of the neck or give them a bollocking.

Everything just seems very 'flat' at the club.

Yes going by yesterday's performance which I thought was very poor it is going to be a Long Season

I honestly thought before the game we would beat them

Swans just didn't play for the first hour.

Defence were found out again. Fernandez not good enough, Amat really not good enough.

Llorente looks like yet another failure in the signing of strikers. Just hope Borja turns out to be worth the money - if he's ever fit.

4 of our next 5 games are against Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool & Arsenal.

Can't see us being too far above the bottom 3 at the end of October.
