Hello

I need a solution to get wifi (almost) anywhere(near walking street) in pattaya, on my phone. not only in hotel but in streets

I come in pattaya 3x1week by year, so better avoid yearly abonnement

my phone is not dual sim and I need to keep the sim card of my provider, so better wifi than sim card

thanks for help

Be better buying a cheap Thai phone and using that on Thai 3 or 4 g

What you asking ain't gona happen for so many reasons at best you maybe able to log onto a few spots if you got passwords down or near WE but as I said that not really gona work out for you

You can get enough cheap packages and phones then set up the phone same as home for EMails or stuff you seem to be needing via the WiFi question

Does TrueMove offer Pocket-WiFi?

That small device you carry in your pocket?

TrueMove also includes ubiquitous access to all their hotspots with most of their packages.

You are unlikely to get reliable WiFi when out and about.

As suggest you really need to have mobile internet if you need to be connected. All the major mobile providers have very reasonable priced mobile internet. Here are a couple of links to pre-paid packages available: dtac, One-2-Call

The easiest solution would be to take your home SIM card out of the phone and replace it with a Thai SIM card with internet.

Is there an important reason you have to have to be contactable on your home number while you are on holiday in Pattaya on Walking Street?

Otherwise, you can get a second phone; or get a MiFi (mobile hotspot) to carry around - both of which are not optimal solutions while carousing on WS.

like everyone else said, thai sim and using mobile wifi or a pocket wifi, i just get a dtac sim from the kiosk at the airport upon arrival never had issue with it, reliable service and cheap enough, or pocket wifi you can buy at just about any 7/11

What is your home country and provider? That will help a lot with giving you advice how to route it properly or make yourself accessible.

Hello

Thanks for answer, i buy a cheap dual sim phone and will buy a thai sim card when i come next time

Thai 3G I have found to very good compared to the UK... I have used it to connect to my virtual PC back in the UK easily and had to use it when I had a power cut in my condo when I was working...

Just get a second phone leave your main phone in your room lock it way so it doesn't get lost unless you have to have it on you all the time..and will not ask why you need that ...  :GoldenSmile1:

You used to be able to sign up for wifi from AIS with 100's of access points mostly at Family mart for next to nothing for a month, like 90 baht.

Look that up.

Here's a tip... or two for wifi only addicts, just like me:

1. Buy wifi hotspot packet from 7/11 and ask your thai girl to activate it with her own thai phone. Then she give passwords to you. Should work.

2. Buy cheapest thai sim and top it with wifi hotspot packet. Change this sim to your normal phone only for the time you activate wifi service. Then change back to your normal sim. Should work.

3. This is my personal favorite, always works: Every place you go (bar, gogo, barber, massage...) ask wifi password. I've done this and basically have a very good coverage in many areas. Especially Walking Street and Soi6.

This has to be the easiest plan. My first 24 hours in Thailand is always a scouting mission for wifi passwords, and sometimes I'll even stop off for a beer somewhere convenient just to have another pont of access if I'm nearby.  My current phone must have 80 passwords from Patong.

get foot massages from shops with wifi , then there are places like beer garden. after a few days you are hardly a few mins away from wifi any where

FYI, wifi that you do not know is not the safest thing.. Be wary when checking email (especially if automatic) and checking bank accounts.

Buy your own portable dongle & they do unlimited sim packages.

800 Baht for 30 days.

I have a i pad & just put he sim in to it & its fast & as good as any net connection I have at home.

Jack.
