I am thinking about booking this hotel for my next trip.  I would like to know if any of you have stayed there and what you think about it.  If you have any reviews or can answer any of my questions it is appreciated.  http://www.vresidencepattaya.com/

The things I like about it:

1. Newer

2. Elevator so I can get higher floors and leave the sliding door open at night without the mosquitoes.

3. Parking for motorbike

4. Flat screen tv so I can hook it up to watch some online TV

5. Big Fridge

6. 8000 baht/month plus elec and water

7. Daily cleaning

8. Looks like a King or Queen sized bed

9. Someone at reception 24/7

10. Balcony to have a cigar or two

I would have a motorbike, but can this hotel be done without one?

Is there short walkway to 3rd from the hotel

I have read the issues with the WIFI and was wondering if they have been sorted out?

Is there a pool nearby to use and how much do they charge?

Is it a quiet and safe area?

Does the TV have western TV channels?

If I stay for a month do they clean the rooms daily?

Location looks good price even better

However a few things missing from the website

Firstly no mention of electric and water charges - Lots of places double or even triple the government rate this can add a couple of thousand baht to your bill or more

Some places have a compulsory end of rental cleaning contract which is fair enough. However no mention of how much?

For me I cant see a kitchenette and that would be a deal breaker. Not that I want to go all gordon ramsey but its nice to have a few bags in the fridge to microwave or make a fry up.

As to your question's

Normally cleaning and laundry of bedding is the responsibility of the tenant approx 300 baht for cleaning a room. There used to be a time when your lady of the night would clean your room in the morning sadly theses days are long gone.

Sometimes serviced apartments have cleaning and laundry thrown in again no mention on website.

Quiet and safe well safe as to quiet that can change I was staying close to that area a couple of years ago and bar about 200 yards away used to crank up their amps and leave the doors open last year i wa sin that area late at night and quiet.

My Thai Girlfriend says having a small Dick shouldn’t be a problem in a relationship I still wish she didn’t have one though!

How do you protect yourself if you book for a month and after a couple of days there you do not like the hotel.  Don't most ask for the full amount up front on the first day.  If someone is not happy with the hotel will they refund you and charge you the daily rate for your stay?

If I booked through Agoda and things were bad will they help with getting some of my money back?

I've been thinking about this place as well!

Walked by on Third Rd once, there seems to be a lot of empty land next to and in front of this hotel, so might get very noisy if construction buildings starts?!

It's a bit away from everything, shopping, bars, beach and so on, and although looking from a birds view it seems near to Walking Street,

there are as you mentioned no short cut to Third Rd, but you have to walk all around the block to just get out of there!?

I sent them some questions, but they haven't answered back yet!

Received reply today from V Residence!

"At V Residence Pattaya we are provide free wi-fi and signal is good.

8000 baht is for 1 year contract and 12000 baht is for monthly, Electric & Water is not include.

There are no shortcut from hotel to Third Rd.

From V Residence to Third Rd is about 300 meter! "

So price per month is actually 12000 baht for most people!

No mentioning of electric and water prices so you have to add appr. another 2000 baht up per month!

OK price, but out of the way location with no direct access to Third Rd still a big problem for me as I walk everywhere!

Talked to them again and they agreed on 10000 baht a month for a 3 month rental!

Not bad, but location still is a bit out of the way, although this time they assured me it was only 50 meters to Third Rd!?

They wanted 16000 bath in deposit for 3 months, and cost for electric was 8 baht/unit and water 3,5 baht/unit.

I read a lot of reviews on different hotelbooking sites, most were quite postitive, but there were also complaints of

bad Wi/Fi signal in room, rooms not cleaned for days, paperthin walls, other guests constantly banging their doors,

dark and scary street at night, some rooms had noise from nearby Thai Karaoke, construction work in the morning,

and a bit far from beach, nightlife, shopping and supermarkets!

On the positive side: quiet location, new and clean, nice personel and swimming pool.

If you decide to stay there please do a review about it.

My concern is their own map shows no way directly to 3rd Rd, only going around the Soi, as I walk that would concern me late at night, not so much problems with guys but definitely dogs.

The rooms do look great and good sized + the price for what your getting (okay 8 baht per KB is high) is good just so long as its location is one you don't need to get a moto back at night.

Yeah, that's my main concern as well!

I did walk by on the opposite side of Third Rd once on my last trip though and looking across the road there was a row of empty demolished plots at the back of this hotel along Third Rd!

If you could sneak in between one of these plots it's not far from Third Rd to hotel, but there might be buildingconstruction and noise coming up in the near future along this stretch as well!
