Donald Trump: Allies should pay all base costs

After being assured of the Republican Party’s nomination for the U.S. presidency, Donald Trump said in a televised interview on Wednesday that countries hosting U.S. military bases, such as Japan, South Korea and Germany, should cover all the military costs. “Of course, they should pick up all the expenses,” he said in the CNN interview, suggesting his intention to demand those countries reimburse all the costs of operating the U.S. bases if he wins the general election in November.
