Cash Refund for 2-15 Year Olds Re Advanced Passenger Duty

Just a quick heads up that refunds of Advanced Passenger Duty are being paid via Agents. It only came to my attention when BM Barrief posted an attachment actually about something else but APD was part of it earlier this week.

Apparently it was announced in 2014 that from March 1st 2016 it would be abolished for 2-15 year olds but needless to say Agents and Airlines direct have been charging for it and the onus appears to be on us to reclaim.

I contacted Travel Trolley on Monday as my 15 year is flying with me to Thailand later this year. Expecting a battle to get a refund instead they just asked for scan of his details page and today received £73 back to my account.

I had no idea this had happened and I always take a keen interest in airline travel so I'm betting there's a few more here this may apply to.
