Best Rooms in VT6 Pattaya - Any Current Construction?

Featured Replies

So coming into town for the first part of June, was looking to book with Honeys, or Dancewatchers and have never stayed there before, but like the look of the rooms i have seen in pics, as well as the great location next to Central Festival.

Any advice on rooms to book, avoid, etc. Also, who does everyone like to book through, looking at Agoda vs Honeys, vs Dancewatchers.

Is there any construction going on right now that i should be aware of and book accordingly? South rooms, vs north rooms, etc..

Thanks for any info.

Ok, thanks, so to be safe, maybe i book a north room, just in case.

Never stayed there myself, but I've heard that you do NOT want a room on the north side, i.e. Central Festival side - apparently the mall's AC units are loud as fuck.

If you want a better experience with your "date"... read, learn, live the following:

High floors are OK

Stayed at Xmas. LOVED it. Rooms at either end (East 2nd road or West /Beach Road) are noisy, I'm told. We were in a cheaper room (was last one available for Xmas week) on North side on 10th floor with view to parking levels of Central Festival, but it was quiet. Cooler also as no sun beating down through the windows.   Was pleasantly surprised.

Market downstairs level opens at 9am, main mall not until 10. Can get pastries, coffee etc in the mornings. I've stayed all over on dozens of visits to Pattaya and I think VT6 is best location.

Booked through Tik/DW. I think it is one of best possible locations; close to everything.

Ashamed of my true nationality at present so I am temporarily flying the flag of the Kiwi Republic (wanted the All Black's flag-Black background with the Silver Fern- but not an option on the board software so Jacinda's Standard will have to do.

Only triede booking through Honeys. I have gotten good service there, will continue to use her.

I like the south room, i like to use the balcony and the view is great.

Have also stayed on north, fans from central are somewhat noisy when sitting on balcony. I dont notice them in room.

Have just checked out, no construction on south side when i left.

No eternal rewards will forgive us now for wasting the dawn

I book with Honey's.

If you look at the VT6 Construction thread, there's been no activity on the lot for months. I wouldn't worry about it.

In fact, I'm not worrying about it because I'm also going to be in a Walking Street side condo there at the same time.  :Dunno:

We always stay on the north side, high floor, and I have never heard the AC's inside the condo.

They did some test piles on the plot next door, standard practice so the designers of the new building get an idea of how the piled foundations will perform.

The site is mothballed for now but construction will start one ray, the question is when and when it does the value of condos in VT6 will plummet if the south side ends up like the north. But in the meantime a high room on the South side is still a good place to stay. I always book with vtsix.com

I just booked a VT6 room with Honey's for the month of Sept.  I figure even if they start construction tomorrow. the view from the 25th floor should still be unobstructed come Sept.  I had a WS side room last year in Sept when they were doing the piling work and I didn't think the noise was that bad.In fact I kind of enjoyed sitting on my balcony and watching the construction work.

I've used Honey's the last couple of years and have no real complaints. Just remember that the rooms have a a lot of use and can be a little rough around the edges. Some little broken fixtures in the room. The rooms don't look as great in person as they do in the pictures.  I've only used Honey's, so I can't really comment on the other rental agencies at VT6.

There is still currently no activity on the Kantary site next door. There is some speculation that the project is delayed due to financial issues.

Any updates from someone in Pattaya now? I'm about to reserve a room at VT6.

Thanks

Go ahead nothing happening there at all

I'm here VT-6 now, 13th floor,Walking Street side. No problems, very choice location.

not here now but Central festival side you need to above a certain floor level to get a view other wise you are looking into the carpark , side of the building and it is quite close  also the aircon units can be noisy but they do shut down at night from what I remember .. Think 15 or above you are ok. but maybe somebody can confirm.

Walking street side use to be great but rumour is they start building again in July beleive that has been posted on Dancewatchers web-site.. higher floors will be ok for a while and most have double glazes and sound proof doors but if you want to sit out maybe an issue

Location wise you could be in a better place really central to everything

... and much cooler than ones on the south side.

Of the + 15 different VT6 rooms (from various agents) I been staying in,  mattress in DW's room has been far the best... unless of course one like sleeping on a plank

Thanks guys for all the replies. I've stayed there before, but was concerned about construction noise as I like the south side. Nice to know it hasn't started yet. The problem with booking at VT6 through any of the agencies, is they want a non-refundable deposit, which is fine if there was no threat of construction noise, but nowadays it's a crapshoot.  I'll be there in August, so hopefully nothing will change by then.

Photo guy and white Thai, check out dancewatchers rooms 26/1004 and 26/1006 they are on the 26th floor walking street side with the best views as they are located closest to the beach end and with the high floor the views are amazing. Yes all piling work was completed many months ago and two months ago they disconnected the power to the lot. I don't believe construction will happen now for a long while. I would book on the south side if you enjoy sea view as I do. The north side always has noise from the air conditioning fans on top of central festival, that is a deal breaker for me. The view of the Pattaya city sign and you can see walking street and a panaramic view all the way to jomtien and beyond. Good luck with with what ever you choose. beachroadlover

I've just booked through Dance Watchers a south side room but quite low 13 - 450 impressed with the booking process & service so far, let's see what the rooms like as I arrive in 2 days time

This is a nice room, close to elevators (with no noise hassle) and all furnished in wood with indian-like decoration on ceiling over the bed.  No washing machine tho as far as i can remember, you will have to go down at laundries.

I wonder if you will still have same neighbor (old guy always letting his door half opened to save aircon and who was hitting the wall when we were doing too much noise on bed early mornings ;)

One morning Dancewatchers maids put some dvd cases on the floor between bed and wall to avoid anymore trouble ! lol
