Help with Budget Airlines from Australia please

Hoping some Aussie BM's will be able to help me with budget options from Brisbane or Gold Coast.

I'm trying to work out cheap options for my Sister & nephews to fly to the UK.

As far as I can see, DIRECT NON-STOP options from Gold Coast are:

Scoot to Singapore;

Jetstar to Tokyo Narita (on one flight daily);

Air Asia to Kuala Lumpur.

I can't see any suitable non-stop from Brisbane?

Am I right?

As they'll be going on to the UK, I'm just looking for non-stop options to somewhere that may then have decent fares on to the UK. Fares out of Brisbane to the UK are bloody high!

Also, does anyone have an idea of how much baggage is likely to cost?

It's easy to see on Jetstar but I couldn't easily find it on Scoot - they ask for passenger details before they show add-ons.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I think you have the cheapies covered....

I find, a lot of the time, that the LCC can be false economy, once you take into account the extras...

I think of the options you have listed Narita and Singapore are probably the better....  flown with both,  Jetstar are OK, do what they say... same same for Scoot.

As for luggage, just run a dummy booking with Scoot to get an idea of what the charges will be.

Try Skyscanner or Momondo, and use the multi city option for bookings....  you may get a pleasant surprise.

On the KUL leg, MAS are often very very competitive with Air Asia, sometimes they are even cheaper.  BUT, and I repeat BUT, that is flying X Sydney...  I haven't checked X Brissy or OOL

Thanks.

I'll keep an eye on that website as well.

They always have to fly during school/college holidays which is one of the reasons fares are high.

Reckon AirAsia/Vietnam combination comes in at under Au$2000 for June/July. It's around $2800 from BNE with Singapore et al though.
