Air Asia from U-Tapao now embarks at Central Festival

Recommended Posts

Planning to go to Udon Thani next month and noticed that Air Asia now lists a starting point at Central Festival. Seems like they put on a bus or some type of transport to line up with flights departing UTP.

Tried booking from Central it was 1,200, same flight from UTP was 800, so the raw cost for the transport to airport seems to be 400 baht. Anyway, not a bad option, save booking transport to the airport separately.

Has anyone used this and where exactly does the bus pick you up at Central?

So a minibus from Utapao to Pattaya costs B150, according to the signs in the photos, but it costs B400 going the other way ?

Just another case of 'Amazing Thailand' !

As the volume of traffic through the local airport grows, it is surely approaching the point where someone should start a basic scheduled minibus-service (and not just a once-per-day big-bus) from Central & the North Pattaya Bus Station, going the other way and at the same price ?

Hopefully by the time of my own flights in November, please !

It only cost me B780 return, to fly CNX-UTP-CNX, so at present this minibus-connection costs more, than my flight did !

Then again we have the shining example of the SRT, who run just one slow train each-way daily, between Bangkok & Pattaya.  :Think1:
