Round trip ticket in may from Vancouver to bkk is only $555 usd!

That's cheap for travelling half way round the world . I usually pay more already from Amsterdam to Bangkok and that's half the distance .

What dates? The lowest I have seen out of LAX are $650 mid year.

The breakdown of my $812 roundtrip ticket from Tampa to Bangkok was funny to look at...  $287 for the flight, the rest taxes and fees.

For me, anything under $1000 is a good deal.

 

You guys on the west coast are lucky.  Cheaper flights and shorter flight times.

 

I got lucky at my local casino and hit a $3K slot jackpot.  Splurging with the found money... I just added $500 to the cost of the ticket by upgrading to United economy plus seats.

Flights out of YVR are especially good right now ... combination of devaluation of the Looney, as well as a bit of a price war at the moment.

I start my flights out of Des Moines or Omaha. I find it works out a lot cheaper to grab a Southwest flight to LAX, then hook up with a long haul carrier to BKK.  I do however, like to spend a night in LA, just for the rest and that gives me leeway if there is a problem or delay with Southwest.

They've gone up about $50 USD since my post. Still some available in May for high $500s. Think I better book asap. The airline is China Southern, although there are Cathay flights through Hong Kong for only about $100 more.

Welp, I'm a moron and waited too long to book. Prices have gone back up for the dates i'm considering. Hoping they revert in the next few weeks.

I'm shopping now for a cheap ticket, finding 00-650 from LAX. Coming from Alaska via Las Vegas( really cheap by our standards) then the hop to LAX. I could get cheaper if I flew into China but I'm old and like the familiar airline. It suck they won't let us board the Int'l flight in Anchorage amymore, I would pay to avoid the extra 6 hours of flying, but two day in Vegas may pay for it all!!
