I have used these people 3 times and they have never let me down, I think foreign owned. Car delivered to your hotel or to airport and picked up from anywhere in the area. Next time I go there (to visit my TGFs home) I would call/contact them first.

They now accept paypal also.

Never stayed here but have heard some good reports about this hotel. It is next to the Irish Clock.

I agree with Lek Car rentals. You need to book ahead as a lot of time they have all their cars booked out.

As above, Pannarai is nice. A cheaper option is Paradise hotel. Nice, clean and only a few years old. It's a bit withdrawn from the main road, but still in city center, where Pannari is in the middle of the bar area.

I would just rent the car in the airport. I normally pay 1100 a day for a Honda Jazz/Toyota Vios sized car.

I would agree with above posts, I have used Lek car rentals great service and good price. As far as hotels Pannarai is on the same Soi as the bars, then you have Centara which is not far and is right next to Central shopping mall. I have also stayed at Prajaktra, a little out of the way but decent hotel right opposite the park, good if you like to go for a run or even a nice weak to keep fit. Udon Thani is a nice little city to relax in with a small bar scene. Pop in and see Ning and her bar opposite The Irish Clock she is a fun lady.

In soi Falang/soi Sampan, there are bars and is the centre of Udon nightlife. Just a few doors down from the Irish Clock is @Home - a modern, clean and friendly place (around 800THB)....no pool though.

I stayed at @Home also - nice modern rooms.  Very reasonable rate.

Centara is a bit grandiose for and Udon stay but I have stayed there 3 times ....

You can take the monger out of the bar but you can never take the bar out of the monger
