Hotels in May

So I will be traveling for the first time to Pattaya in earl May for about 7 days, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for date friendly hotels. I've noticed a huge price swing from 5 to 4 and 3 star hotels, some being around 30 usd a night. Also I have hotel points, and would like to use them through IHG and Hilton, but I am also not sure how date friendly they are. Any advice for a newbie is appreciated. Thanks

Try to find inspiration here. I do not know whether the site is updated enough, but such help may suffice.

This is great, thank you. I'm leaning towards the LK Renaissance.

I have stayed there many times. but have not stayed there for the past 2 trips due to construction on the back side of the hotel.  It is in a very good location for bar hopping at Soi LK and a short walk from Soi Bokhow you can jump on a baht bus to Walking Street, and a short walk from 2nd road on the way back from Walking Street, or head to Soi 6.  Great location, and if you ask the staff they will tell you the gender of your "date" from the id card so you don't get any nasty surprises.

Thanks so much. For the price and location it will be perfect for our group, and the ladyboy screening is an added bonus.

For many guys coming first time to Pattaya, Areca Lodge is great choice. I will probably stay there in March

It's across the street from the LK hotels, but it has a age restriction of no-one under 20, where as the Ren is no-one under 18

I've stayed at both LK Ren & Areca and they are good choices. They're about 1/2 a block apart on opposites sides of the soi/street. My preference is Areca because it has 2 swimming pools.

Both the LK Renaissance & Areca are great if your main focus is the Soi LK Metro area.  The Renaissance is quite convenient & I had no issues there, except for the shower.  You must upgrade to get a separate shower.  Otherwise it's a combination tub/shower which is okay, just a pain in the ass to get in every time.

I actually prefer the Beach Rd area, particularly the Whitehouse Condotel & the LK Empress.  On the other hand, if you have access to a government ID of any kind, the Marriott offers some excellent deals in the high season (now).  I'll arrive there next week, the night of the 25th.  Perfect location and a tremendous breakfast buffet.  In the higher season with the gov't rate the price is only about $10-15 more than the Empress.

Good choice, I have stayed at lk metropole before, you really can't go wrong staying on soi diana, so many option's, beer bars, gogo's in lk, massage in soi honey, Gentlemens Clubs close, Its probably the most convenient area in pattaya

The age restriction in Areca Lodge changed some time ago and it is now no-one under 18!

The construction behind LK Renn is huge project with 20 plus floors and goes on from early until somewhere around 10-11pm at night, maybe if you are lucky the noisy part might be finished by May!
