A 28-year-old British man from Leeds died in mysterious circumstances on Tuesday Night and as part of the Police investigation, they initially detained 4 ladyboys who are thought to have been somehow involved in the case.

Mr. Naami Keyghobadi either fell or was pushed from a 4th floor window at the Dolphin House Apartments in Soi Lengki 1 off Pattaya Third Road and was pronounced dead-at-the-scene. His body was found in a side-alley next to a Real Estate Office located at the base of the apartment complex.

Police spoke with a Ladyboy who occupies the room on the 4th floor where the British man is thought to have jumped from. Khun Pochara aged 33 was questioned and it was noted by Police that he was sweating profusely.

During the initial investigation Police are unsure of the chain-of-events leading up to the fatality as each of the detained ladyboys gave Police different versions of what happened.

Khun Pochara claimed he was inside his room and heard arguing coming from a 3rd floor room occupied by a Ladyboy friend of Khun Pochara. He went to investigate and saw the British man climb the stairs to the 4th floor, followed behind by two other ladyboys who are not thought to reside at the apartment complex. They were reportedly arguing over money the victim owed the ladyboys for “services” they provided him inside the room.

Khun Pochara claimed he was shocked to see the Brit push past him and enter his room, he then claims the victim ran towards the window and began to climb out as if he was preparing the jump. All the ladyboys claim they tried to pull him back but they were unable to prevent him falling to his death.

Police checked the 3rd floor room and detained 3 ladyboys inside. One of them attempted to escape but was quickly apprehended. They found drug taking paraphernalia inside the room and Crystal Meth residue was seen by Police.

A post mortem examination will take place on the victim which will include a toxicology report to determine if the victim had taken any form of narcotic prior to his death. The four suspects in the case are currently detained pending further investigations. No one has been charged with any criminal offence in connection with the case as yet.

When your packing your bags you never think this could be your last trip..

Follow the following guidelines and you'll be fine:

1) Mind your own business.

2) Don't piss anyone off.

3) Don't raise your voice or use profanity.

4) Don't intervene upon occurrances within your surroundings.

5) Don't rubberneck.

Pattaya, however, is saturated with ill-mannered, uneducated, ignorant foreigners, who's first instinct, in any dispute, is to get physical. Hence, situations such as this will persist.

Pattaya's a very safe place, and trouble is very easy to avoid.

Be respectful, exercise manners and good judgement, and you won't have any problems.

No problem. I'm not worried about death before I travel to Pattaya, or anywhere else in SE Asia for that matter.

The probability of being murdered is about one in 19,500 per year, and that goes even lower for those who take common sense precautions.

Pattaya is a very safe place, and all of the problems come from things we know are high risk, including behavior. Nearly all of the problems come from motorcycle incidents, unsafe driving or transportation, fights, disputes, etc. In nearly every instance, the root cause often boils down to willful negligence.

What happened here with this young individual is unfortunate, but it appears that these basic provisions should be noted as a reminder, as well as awareness, to promote safe travels and safe environment for all of us.

How do we know that this guy didn't follow all the precautions you listed in your post , we only have the ladyboys side of the story .

And because the poor guy is now deceased that's the only version of the story we will ever have .... and therefore we cannot be fully sure about what happened in that room.

I wonder why the deceased ran up the stairs?

If he was on his toes with angry LBs in hot pursuit surely he would have gone down the stairs, hit the Soi running and never be seen again?

What a way to go....thrown out of a fourth floor window by four angry ladyboys. Not something you want on your tombstone,or how you would like to be remembered.

Is your judgement, ruay, that the 28 yr old Brit was to blame?

Jed, et. al., If you look at my response, I was not responding to the news article post, but specifically to ProudAusie, with respect to his board quote, to which I interpreted as fear for safety based upon news reports.

As for your question, I don't know.

What I do know, however, is that we can all benefit from awareness and being proactive.

So it is the fault of the foreinger?  Your points are good ones for visitors to follow but it would be much safer if you added bullet proof vest.  I think you need to draw up a play list for Thais too.  Anytime you have loads of drunks and prostitution the safety meter goes amuck.
