Thai Bank Account?

was wondering if anyone can help, I am about to rent a condo in Pattaya and want to open a Thai bank account. I am in the UK at present but will be in Pattaya at xmas. What is the easiest way to open an account and with what bank? Thanks in advance

Perhaps give a rundown of what research you've done yourself to-date, so as not to duplicate. Also to take away the belief that you've done fuck all and just want answers.

Kasikorn Bank (KBank)

 

Jomtien Branch is nice n convenient.  Get there at opening think 9am as it takes a while to set up an account.

 

Bring passport

Address and contact details

Thai phone number

email address

 

Set up internet banking. Thai number is needed to operate their OTP one-time-password to validate transfers and other requests.

 

I set mine up 5 years ago, things might be tighter now but go n see.

If one bank does not do what you want, try another branch or another bank, you will find one that will.

I have an account with Krungsri bank next to Shenanigans in Jomtiem, never had any major problems with them, all you need to open an account is you're passport and a fist full of baht.  They also do internet banking.  Only thing with them is when you transfer more than 800,000 baht into the account they will not do it until you tell them you are happy with the exchange rate!!   There customer service is pretty good and most of the birds in there speak passable Engrisch

Very hard to open one now on standard visa. Mate had 9 attempts before he opened one with Kasikorn.
