I'm arriving on 11 January 2016 and will require a Honda Click for 30 days.

 

I have a full UK bike licence (A). In UK I ride a Honda CBF1000 and Triumph Bonnie (this little Scooter will be good fun around Pattaya I'm sure).

 

How exactly can I book the bike?

 

I'm bringing my own open face helmet together with light leather gloves. If you supply a good western standard helmet I will not have to lug my lid half way across the world. Kindly advise if the supplied helmets comply with EU/USA laws? If not, I'll bring my own.

For the benefit of other forum members, I have now booked and confirmed a Scooter for a full month in January/February 2016.

 

I can confirm the whole process was quick and painless. Blue Dragon is either a westerner himself or, he's a very clever educated and friendly local who speaks and writes English as well as an Englishman. lol. Not sure which, but he's certainly comes over as knowing what he's doing. - makes a refreshing change from some of my Scooter hiring experiences...

 

Looks like I've found a reliable local bike hire contact.

I'd like to rent a twist and go bike for a year when I come over in March.

I've never ridden a bike before, is this a problem for insurance?

Can I ride one on a UK car driving licence?

Will my thai wife, be allowed to use it (is the bike insured for anyone)?

Rented a bike here and couldn't have been any nicer or better service, he should up on time which if you know Thailand that is enough to book here already but the bike is what he said it was going to be meaning very nice and everything in top shape, I've rented from some other companies around town you pay more and the bikes are never as new as your expecting or lead to believe. In any case I can't say enough about going with these him..

 

Selfishly I hate to see him get to busy as then it becomes though for me to get my bikes.. I find this with many things in Pattaya that become popular..

On the Dutch Goverment website of Foreign Affairs there is a warning for a new scam in Thailand: renting an uninsured motorbike which is subsequently stolen and then have to pay thousands of euros for the replacement.

 

Everywhere in the world you can buy insurance when renting a motorcycle, so there must be a possibilty to do the same in Thailand!

I am sorry but we can't offer you fully comprehensive insurance on any bike. It may seem odd to you but it is impossible to obtain this type of insurance on any rental bike.

I can assure you we do not opperate any such scam that you mention.
