UN to hold March summit to resettle, place millions of Syrians

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday announced plans for a summit in March on resettling millions of people who have fled Syria as he expressed concern at "misplaced suspicions about migrants and refugees."

I am not a highly educated man or an expert on world affairs but do have my views from what I read. 

 

The question that I ask is why are the syrians running and not staying to fight for the their countries freedom?  

 

We have people leaving european country to join the fight and Syrians leaving.  

 

am I missing something here ?

 

I have to admit I don't know a lot about this conflict and the more I read the more I seem to get confused.

Good idea, the UN Secretary-General can re-settle them all in his own country !
