YANGON (AFP) - Myanmar's President Thein Sein on Sunday said historic polls won in a thumping landslide by Aung San Suu Kyi's party were the consequence of his government's reforms and vowed a smooth transition of power.

Well done to her, just shows you patience pays off, she brought down the army government with hardly an angry word and Burma can now join the the 21st century
