Is a health insurance plan mandatory to visit?

I believe I read somewhere that it is required to have international health insurance to visit LOS.

Of course, it is heavily recommended...is it required?

I don't think so. My Dad 'visits' for 6 months at a time without any medical or travel insurance (not wise, I've tried telling him) and it has never been an issue at immigration or anywhere else.

Pattaya is like enjoying yourself -it's not for everyone.

This was indeed proposed in 2013 by Health Ministry at the time but AFAIK it has never materialized and I've never heard of anyone being asked about insurance at entry point.

No definately not, but anyone would be crazy not to have basic medical cover even if none of the rest.  My annual is just £38 unlimited trips but individually 60 day maximums.
