Hello All.

Since the construction on Sukhumvit Road has started, has the travel time from Pattaya to swampy been affected? I have a 10:30 am flight out of BKK and was wondering what time I should book my taxi so that I make it with planty of time to spare.

My flight is on Friday 25 December so I am expecting it to be quite busy.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

I stay on the Darkside and give myself 1 & 1/2 hours

I use 1,5h from Pattaya center. Tell youre taxi when you have to at airport. They know the traffic and what time you should leave.

On average it takes about 1hr 30mins.I would book taxi for about 5.30,that gives you enough time to get to airport and about 3hrs 30mins to check in ,can be long queues sometime at check in so always best to give yourself enough time so you can relax before your flight .

Holy Cow - have you ever needed 3h or more at BKK?

I always leave early am (0530 - 0700) and have never needed more than an hour. Took a couple of flights in the afternoon to other parts of Asia, a little busier, but still not more than an hour.

Nothing wrong for spending time at the airport for those who do; just curious if your processing has ever taken that long?

Check in online & just bag drop, I think the longest wait I have had is 10 mins, immigration is always fairly quick so that just leaves the bar

Best advice, go to Bangkok for a day or two before the flight date, since it is a great city to visit then you have a short trip to the airport and no worries.

I do it every time, from a few days to a week.
