I have narrowed my search to the stay, see me spring 2, the empress and areca lodge , what order would you put these in? They all seem great and easy access to everywhere

I've never been to Pattaya but it's funny because that was my top 3 along with Page 10 when I was deciding where to stay for my first trip.

Decided to go with Sea Me 2

Spring 2 has construction nearby great location but I'd avoid for now

If someone booked a `me` room they would hardly know anything was going on,they`re round the back away from any noise.

Stayed at empress and sea me spring too. LK empress has better rooms, but I like the location and pool at sea me better. It really close so which ever has a better rate would get my business.

The Empress and the Areca are in the same general area, but depending on where you want to go and what you want to do you are in two different areas.  I think that getting to and from walking street or the soil are the Empress is going to be easier for baht bus transport.  If you like the soi LK area and soi honey massage street them the Aerca is a better location.

The pool area at the Areca is much nicer than what you get at the Empress.  If you get a beach view room at the Empress you will like the view, however the motorboats also rev the shit out of their engines early in the morning and that may wake you.

Spend an extra 1000 or 2000 baht a night and move up to the Marriott.

Stayed at all 3 and I would rate them as:

Location: Empress/Areca/Sea Me (Construction)

Room:     Empress/Sea Me/ Areca

Hotel:      Areca/Sea Me/Empress

Price:      Areca/Sea Me/ Empress

Due to construction Soi 10 is nothing to look at. Noise wises you need to choose the right room away from construction. Depending on special prices is what would lock it in for me.

I stayed at Empress beach front apartments which had a big balcony and it was great starting the night off with a few drinks watching beach road come alive. About the same price as the cheapest room at the Marriott at the time.

Would have been nice if you had provided a little more information on each place, i.e., room rates, Soi or close proximity. Pictures would have been really great. I'm always interested in staying somewhere new in Pattaya. Hopefully, I can pull these all up on google. Thanks for the start on my search.

I have stayed in 20+ hotels over the last 4 years. Tell me what time of year you want, your budget and preferred location...I will give you my view of what's been good for me.

That may be true for the noise, the Serenotel had thin doors and faced the construction very loud. However more so than that is the street is dirty and frankly I didn't feel safe walking by that construction site like maybe they might drop something and I don't want to be nearby if that happens

The front sea facing rooms at LK Empress are very good value considering the sea view and the relative closeness to walking street.

And I forgot, the endless eye candy on the road in the evenings :)

Forget health clinics and gyms. Sex is the best cure. One good night of sex and your problems are gone.

In the Areca Lodge, do they still have a very old fashioned bath tubs in every room? I would like the walk in shower instead of the 70's baht tub. Yes the location is goog, but the baht tub is really no no.

Any folks recommend a high(-er) end Pattaya hotel that has a small villa/private pool that doesn't cost the mortgage payment?

Apologies - only just seen your post mate. Looks like your on the ground yourself now.

For what it's worth, my advice would be 24 7 on soi honey or Centra Avenue on soi Diana (corner suite - as it has balcony).

I just called the Empress and they said: no smoking in rooms. Is that so??

The said it is LK policy that the rooms are non smoking.

Can anyone confirm?

Nanren bu huai, nuren bu ai.

Only ever stayed in Areca out of the 3 and funnily enough I liked the bath, had some nice soapies with girls in those tubs but now stay in a guesthouse. Its about half the price not far from Soi Diana and I soon realised not being a disciplined guy when in Patts, I was not using the 2 pools or gyms and many restaurants, I have become a "freelancer" 555.

I would not like a bath. Walk in shower all the way for me. Areca somehow has it here in the boards but the bath would be the no go for me.
