apart from the obvious not serving alcohol on board any reasons why I shouldn't fly with them? looking at flying out of Melbourne dec 23 , there prices are at least $300 cheaper than any other airline

I'm interested in replies as well.

They have business class return for less than $2000 with stop-over no longer than 2 hours if you feel like splashing out.

I have done both cattle class and business!

The key is to look for stop over time!

Shitty airport!

The city tour is worth a shot!  In between flights!

I flew with them from Perth to London return once, yes no alcohol but they will let you drink your duty free and will supply you with the mixer.

Only thing that made me think was at every take off, they played a prayer so I thought why do they need to pray, am I going to survive this 55555555.

Yeah the airport in Brunei is a boring shit hole and my flight was delayed on the 2nd leg of the journey as the Sultan was landing.

in a nutshell, saving the money was worth the inconvenience, all the planes I flew on were in good order.

Whilst there is no alcohol given away you can take as much as you can handle on. Last time I flew with them I bought some mini bottles of wine and spirits at Tulla duty free. They will happily give you ice and the mixers. But you have to drink it all before you land in Brunei. I had a 90 minute stopover and was so pissed I hardly noticed. Slept all the way to BKK. Going back I flew Deathstar.

As much as I love all things Australian, I got to get me action of the asian persuasian.

Never had an issue on the two flights I've had.

As mentioned, your own duty free can be consumed and they'll supply the mixers (although I wouldn't recommend getting sloshed), the connections are good (they were terrible previously) and the plane is good (a new Dreamliner where previously it was an old plane leased from Singapore Airlines).

Excellent airline, as nixonsbest says check the stop over time as they don't have connecting flights to BKK everyday.

Terrible boring airport but for the saving of $300 i wouldn't hesitate.

Any more than 2 hours at the brunei airport would put me off even if it was cheaper by 200 bucks

Do people actually book flights without checking the connection.....??

I know it's incredibly hard to believe but a guy from my work placed booked a trip to Hong Kong online. He didn't see that it is an over night stay in Brunei on the way over, stupidity knows no bounds.

I do read it quite often with Guys booking on the UAE carriers and then realising its an 8 hour transit subsequently. If you're looking via any comparison site it lists against every price total travel time including transit.......when you see 14/15/16 Hours as Brit you know you're on the money, but some of these must be 22/23 hours.

How anyone can miss that I find hard to believe

I got a flight once with a connection time of an hour, well missed that flight and got put on the next flight 18 hours later so always better to check connection time. Wasn't on Royal Brunei though

Good reports.

Direct is best but RB seems a good option. Friends have used it to Thailand with no issues.  Theyve had promos as low as 500aud which is brilliant value considering that includes meals and 30kg checkin.

They're a very good airline LRanger, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
