Blood or Urine test for STD ?

Returned from Patts a few days ago.

Have a burning sensation when i urinate. However if i drink a lot of water, there is no burning sensation.

When i shake the dick to get the last few drops to fall off, the tip feels sensitive and pains sometimes.

 

There are no boils or sores anywhere in the genital region.

 

Went to a doc and he recommended a urine culture which i gave. It could take about 4-5 days to get the results.

 

Is this the normal coarse of action or is he missing something?

 

I always covered up with a condom for intercourse, though i did let the girls suck on it a bit before bagging up.

Take 1gm zithromax all at once...4 tabs. Next day start on doxycycline for a week....2 tabs one am one pm. No drinking on doxy.

Ok, did you tell your doc that you have just returned from a vacation in Thailand where you were banging working girls every day? Without that vital piece of information, your testing is incomplete.

Make sure he knows this, as I am pretty sure that once he finds out, your battery of tests will be expanded.

When you're at the end of a piss, does it just dribble out during the last few seconds.

 

Thats a surefire sign of chlam and/or gonn.

Don't take Medical opinions from the internet. If your a monger, get tested every three (3) months - blood & urine. Then you can continue in the game.

Blood test is for Syphilis, Hepatitis and HIV.  I think he believes it's unnecessary because you didn't tell him you banged 20 different hookers in Thailand. Regardless, I would just tell him I want full panel STD tests including HIV (sometimes they won't test for that if you don't ask).

Since he has only been home for a week it is probably too early to test for HIV. It takes a minimum of a four weeks before it will show up in any of the tests. It is best to wait for 3 months before being tested, unless there is a reason to do otherwise.

 

How soon can I take an HIV test?

 

UK guidelines state that 4th generation HIV tests (antigen/antibody) will detect 95% of infections four weeks after exposure.

 

A negative test after four weeks then needs to be confirmed with a second test three months after the risk. This is in case you take longer than four weeks to generate an antibody response.

I've been offline a few days but it's good to see the bullshitters continue with dumb and wrong advice vs. getting a proper diagnosis as a recommendation. 4-5 days is a while but not completely untoward, though the norm is a swab from the urethra vs. urine. 

 

Chlamydia is almost always asymptomatic for men. Amazingly, the dosage of Azithromycin is correct. Too bad that's not what he likely has.

Doxycycline does not treat Gonorrhea so this is a great way to start with Gonorrhea, take medicine that makes you sun sensitive and risks C. Difficile and a week later  guess what? You have Gonorrhea.

 

Simple urinary tract infections including acute prostatitis, are easily treated with antibiotics in the right doses and for the right length of treatment. Very likely and as you get older, very common. Treat AFTER a doctor tests for what the bacteria might be.

 

See a doctor for fuck's sake. The only treatment of late is an injection of Ceftriaxone , not a job for amateurs to try on their own (unless you want to damage a major nerve in your buttocks as well).

There is a clear difference between educating yourself on STDs and their avoidance and the dispensing of medical advice. This is particularly so on an internet forum where you don't even know the poster from a bar of soap let alone their medical history.

 

As the OP's culture came up empty (ie he does not have gonorrhea or chlamydia) your 'diagnosis' and prescription were wrong.
