The cost of a couple of weeks in The Wave is almost enough to buy a Condo in Nirun

Doubt its guest friendly if you are inclined that way.

I think it is girl friendly. I sent e-mail to the hotel to ask before. I remember the reply was ok for one girl. Haven't stayed there yet but may try for my October/November trip.

Too expensive for what it is, plain and simple. Get a suite with sea viewat LK Empress and enjoy a superior infracstucture and no issues bringing guests to your room.

deffo well on the expensive side and right now it's next to a huge building site

55, staying here he wouldn't have to go on the look out for TGs, he will be sharing the same corridor with them.

Just right bang on the beach RD, but way too pricey , better beach facing options on the same road, like LK empress. Hilton would be good choice bcos its right on top of the mall.

There is construction started right next to the wave hotel like the previous posts indicate, so should be noisy.

Hi,

stayed there in March/April.

Very friendly staff and it is guest friendly (although never tried to bring back 2 or more girls at once).

Also booked breakfast for two and girls joined without problem.

Breakfast was nice and ok for me (although best I have seen in Patts so far was in Marriott). Good cappuccino.

However, I would expect more for the price.

Water pressure in my room (#18) was not good, i.e. if you like to use the tub it will take ages to fill up.

I disliked the musty smell in the room and the mattress squeaked in some places (however managed to have no problem during boom boom ;).

The rest was ok and I enjoyed the stay but better not to think about the money for the room.

Cheers

Akka, I will say it takes a lot to piss you off….

LOL, yeah you might be right ...

Forgot to mention that there was also a high pitch tone from the main electricity switch near the bed (maybe coming from high frequency switching or a transformer).

Switching it off made the tone disappear (but no electricity/lights).

Didn't book it again in July and would recommend to look for alternatives.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just stayed in the Wave hotel. My room did not have any problem like post # 14 and #16 said. No musty smell. No mattress squeaked. No high pitch tone from main switch near the bed. I couldn't even find the main switch. Right beside the bed was only a night stand and only a phone on it. The phone wasn't a wireless phone. So, I have no idea what "transformer" he was talking about!

The Wave hotel is the number 1 hotel in Pattaya in TripAdvisor. It is nice but number 1?? Nice sea view. The noise from the construction behind the hotel was not an issue at this time. I could only hear a little. The TV has some latest HD movies in it (for example Mad Max the fury road). You could watch them for free. Breakfast is one of the best in Pattaya. It is not a buffet but all you can eat. Room rate is a little pricey for a 4 star hotel at 5k per night prepaid rate.

@ the price ~$140 - $150 per night, I would stay at the Hilton hotel, though they may not be GF

FYI, Hilton is GF now. I have stayed in almost all of the 4 or 5 star hotels in north or south Pattaya. So, I just give the Wave hotel a try.

$5000 per night??? Was this a typo???? Does this come with a ST?

No, go to their web site to have a look. It is only prepaid rate. Rack rate I think it is 7k. Sorry, it doesn't come with a ST!

May I ask the room number of the room you stayed in ? From the picture it seems you had a different room.

Or maybe all has been fixed meanwhile. Anyway, good to hear that all was fine for you.

BTW, the switch is labeled MASTER and should be (in my case it was) on the wall just behind the phone in your picture.

I forgot the room number but I believe all of the rooms in the hotel are the same except the two suites. As you could see the picture, behind the phone are some switches for the lights. You only switch off the lights but you still HAVE ELECTRICITY! Light switches would not generate sound like a transformer!

I had this high pitch tone that disappeared when switching the MASTER.

And it doesn't matter from where it comes to be annoying.
