Soi Buakhao (area) - condo 3 months - ideas?

Hi fellas,

I kind of enjoy the area of Soi Buakhao and I'm looking for a place to stay for 3 months. I'm thinking 15k a month.

I appreciate comments as "look while you're there" but this time I sincerely ask you for links/websites as I want to do some budgeting and also check out photos etc.

Throw some places at me that you've tried yourself or that you know that your friend have liked.

Thanks!

If your set on a Condo, then the ones behind the The Avenue shopping -The Urban or city garden.Other than that any of the BM run guesthouses off soi buakhao will be in within your budget .Two on Soi 15 and those on soi chiaypoon and soi Honey.

Center condo on pattaya Tai 5 minutes from buakhao may fit also.

You wouldn't have the name of the guest houses you're referring to?

Three mentioned by the BM above, add to that boomerang and the Hideaway on Soi 15 .there are reviews and websites in this section somewhere.

There`s also rooms above sweethearts bar on soi buakhao, but i don`t know prices for them, and some rooms face soi buakhao.

Also the Retox on soi Lengkee has a thread going on here with pictures and website info somewhere.

Excellent info - thanks!

Is it of your experience that if you suggest staying for 1-2 months that a discount is available?

Most places have monthly rates, I would ask them what's the best price they can do for maybe 1 month? And if your happy with the place and want to stay in Pattaya maybe consider staying an extra 1 or 2 months

Decide if you'd prefer a condo a guesthouse or a hotel. They'll all offer monthly rates.

What facilities do you want? Pool? Good wi-fi? Daily cleaning?

How big a room do you want? Do you need a kitchen or will you just eat out all the time?

How flexible is your budget? 10000 may get you something reasonable, 20000 will give you plenty of options.

How close to Buakhow do you want to be? On it? 10 minutes on baht bus? Will you get a scooter?

Decide on a few of these things then you can narrow down the options.

I'm thinking Nirun Condo next time. I also like the area the OP is talking about, although it was a bit noisy for me this time, especially when I felt like an early night. I used to think Nirun was too far away but I walked there a few times from Chaiyapoon and it only took 15 mins. Nirun's 5k a month as well. I might stay there and rent an m/bike. Sorry if this is off-topic.

You've mentioned a condo for 3 months.  As mentioned The Avenue Residence, City Garden and Urban are newish condos and in the right location.  Problem is most will not rent for less than 6 months and probably not those ones for 15,000.  You will need to add electricity and water to that and require a damage deposit of 1 or 2 months with some sort of deposit wired at time of reservation.  Make sure wifi and cable tv are included.  You will need to do your own laundry(sheets and towels) or hire maid service, more cost.

Having said the above, for 15,000 that is a 500 baht a night room.  If you look at the condos and compare to a hotel room at that cost, well there is no comparison, even accounting for the additional costs.  Most condos have a sofa and kitchenette which over 3 months is a nice touch and room sizes in the condos are usually larger as well.  And the 3 condos mentioned are all newish properties.

I personally prefer a condo for 3 months but try to get a realtor to rent you one.  It's not impossible but there's not much in it for them to do so.  There are agents like Dancewatchers and Honey's Coffee House for View Talay 6 but prices are at least double what you're prepared to pay.(location)  Maybe someone knows of similar agents for the aforementioned 3 condos.  There are a number of serviced apartments that would give you a bit of both worlds, but many don't have websites.  Maybe some BM can help with names.  One option near South Pattaya is Selina Place but you'd probably need transport like a motobike.  LK Mansion and D Apartments on Buakhao do monthly but not sure of cost.

I'd be interested to hear if you have luck with 3 month rental with your location and price range.

Nurin has no construction nearby, markets - including Big C - are close, and it is an easy walk to SB.

We have different definitions of an 'easy' walk in Pattaya

If you walk up to soi 10, turn left at family mart, then it takes you directly to 3rd road.

Remember to check the electric charge, some places will charge around 7 Bt per unit, when the real price is about 4 Bt per unit.

Big difference in the bill at the end of the month.

I think Hunny Pot on Soi Honey quoted 10kbht+amenities/month. Contact BM brisbaneAl for the details. He is a jolly chap and the location is perfecto+rooms are quite newly renovated.

Here is the thread about the rooms: http://www.pattaya-addicts.com/forum/topic/235890-rooms-at-the-hunny-pot-soi-honey/
