Hey bros,

After a 5 year absence I will be back on the scene in two months, cant wait!!!  Anyway I am thinking of staying at April Suites, but I have a few questions I could some conflicting answers, so here goes.

Is the WiFi coverage good in the rooms? I heard you can only have 1 device per room?

Is there a charge for guests? or multiple guests?

How is in the hotel gym?  Any free weights?

Should I get the breakfast?  Are thai dishes on breakfast menu?

How is the coffee, is it instant or brewed?

Thanks,

There is a small gym beside the rooftop pool and sauna, believe it has dumbbells but no bars etc..

Staying there for 3rd time in a row in Septemer i cant really fault it.

I urge you to try April Suites sister hotel the newly built March hotel.  It is located near April Suites.  March hotel is better in every way, but slightly more expensive. (1400 baht on Agoda,  including breakfast. This summer I was sent to March hotel when April Suites was over booked. Never looked back after the upgrade. The bed was the most comfortable I ever slept in while in Asia. The internet wifi was also very fast. There is the possibility of construction noise nearby.

I agree with windsor420's above post. I was in Pattaya at the weekend and booked April Suites on Agoda as usual. I was also moved to March at no extra cost.

As already said the best bed I've ever slept in over here. Will definitely be staying there on future trips.

The April Suites gym is small and might not have AC, so I used the August Suites gym even though I stayed at April Suites.  I was the only one using the August Suites gym and it is about 5x as large and has AC, dumbbells but no free weights, limited machines, treadmills, elliptical trainer, and recumbent bikes.

There is no kitchen in April Suites so they cook your breakfast in August Suites then walk it over which may contribute to slower service.  In the adjacent shopping center, there is a place which sells Thai breakfast foods in the mornings.  Before, you could cross 2nd Rd to Tops Supermarket but it just closed according to this other board

How is it compare location wise to August/April suites?

How long of a walk is it from 2nd road?

I read that the there is a significant walk to March hotel down a soi and that there was no sidewalks and crossing the major roads was difficult. Can anyone cormfirm any of this?

It's not too far a walk from second road, a bit further the other way to Pattaya Klang, but even thats only about five minutes. Neither are busy roads so no problem with lack of sidewalks.

Room is great.  Wifi was pretty good but not great for streaming video.  Guest situation was already mentioned. But on that note they are very strict about ID cards and turned away two girls.  The staff for the most part is great but there is one big girl named Donut that works nights who I didn't find very friendly.  Coffee is brewed but not great and fairly expensive.  Location is alright, especially if you want it quiet.  Breakfast is fairly expensive and nothing special.  I would skip it and go someplace else.

I would go back but the night shift girl and the turning away girls did wind up making me switch hotels for the last part of my trip.

They turned them away because they didn't have ID card?

I stayed at April Suites a couple of weeks ago and they never asked for the lady's ID. We just went straight to my room. This was my first time staying there, so I don't know if this is typical. Nice place. I'd certainly stay there again.

@ Utopia

I am also staying at April Suites next year

I'm one of those who is hopeless is guessing a persons age, was that the reason why the girls were knocked back???

If it was, I would be grateful that the hotel did this

I would prefer they were vigilant against letting girls pass if they thought there age was suspect...

Just to update this for anyone wanting to know latest info.

Stayed in April Suites for 10 nights, great hotel, great staff, rooms were a good size, clean and well laid out. Bed was super comfortable and large, perfect for my GoGo girl 3some. Not very noisy, as in I couldn't hear much from other rooms.

They are definitely 100% girl friendly, checked ID's every time, 1 girl no charge, second girl costs 500 baht.

Great location, easy baht bus ride to Soi 6 and a short walk to Beach Rd, great little bar across the road (2nd Road) and slightly to the left, seats maybe 12 people but in the evenings they have some hottie hostesses, if you're into the tattooed slutty types, not so much if you ain't.

Motorbike taxi crew at the end of the lane are a very cool bunch and will get you anywhere quickly for between 40 and 60 baht depending. Not all have a spare helmet, so ask before you ride.

Oh and a 7-11 store nearby, turn right on 2nd Road and go maybe 200 metres for any incidentals you'll need

Big tip, there are a couple of ladies that do laundry in the laneway in front of the hotel, they're cheaper and faster than the hotel laundry, often ready by the evening if you drop off early enough (even by 10.30am like I did most times, was ready that night) the hotel took 3 days to do it.

Highly recommend April Suites

I wont go as far as to say its a major problem cos i dont know how many times its happened, but i`ve read about instances where customers have turned up and been told they`ve been `upgradaed to `march suites`.I choose an hotel because i want to stay there specifically,if i was redirected on the day i arrived i wouldnt be too happy! If they sent you notification then you could think about it and reply accordingly.

Having said that it does look a good place to stay and has been on my list of possibles in the past, but not yet made a booking there.

I had a look at the March hotel, all looks excellent, the comments are really good except for the ones complaining about construction noise. How bad is it, if your out on the razz all night might need the mornings to rest up. I assume the noise problems will also affect August Suites and April Suites?

This was exactly what happened to me - got to April Suites, they checked my reservation, and told me I'd been placed at the March hotel instead.  I wasn't thrilled, but after 24 hours of travel, I was in Pattaya so... Mai Pen Rai!

They took me in a bus over to March hotel.. and didn't make me wait for a group of about  4 young brits who showed up a few minutes after me and were having the same situation (they seemed less happy than I was).

If you read on Tripadvisor and similar sites, they seem to be doing it alot.

There IS construction happening at the back of the hotel.. so ask for a room on the front side :)

I have to say, considering the March hotel costed more than April Suites, I was more than satisfied.

Good staff, fantastic Wifi (faster than my wifi at home somehow!), good TV, bed was excellent.. really, I was very, very impressed.. far nicer than the LK Royal Wing I stayed at a year prior, and less than half the cost.

I'd really recommend the March hotel to anyone - as mentioned however, they are strict on IDs, however it's nice having them look out - they called up to the loom each and every time to make sure things were okay, and there were always Filipino staff who spoke English well.  The weak point is the restaurant - edible, but nothing special, and average in price.  Skip it.  The girls like it though.

Book April Suites.. worse comes to worse, they upgrade you to something better.  Mai Pen Lai.

Always happy to help a fellow monger :)  Stay safe & healthy gentlemen!!!  :hello09:

Thanks JF, I think I'll take your advice and book April Suites, as you say the worse that can happen is I get upgraded to a more expensive hotel.

Stayed in April Suites 16 nights in June 2016. Stayed also there in 2015.

Positive points:

Rooms are good.

Good bathroom

Good price

Quiet location, no music from bars/discos

Clean

Friendly reception

Negative points

The hotel is located at the end of a dirty alley (carbage tons with rats in around it)

Location so so. Depends what you want. For me LK Metro and Soi10 location is better.

Hard bed (too hard for me)

Balcony very small

I had no hot water (other guests the same) for 3 days!! They had problems.

I had no internet in the hotel for 2 days; technical problems....

The last 2 negative points are hopefully not structural.

For me after 2 stays the location especially the entrance alley and the hard bed are a reason to stay next time elswhere.

Btw: the laundry just outside the hotel in the same alley cannot wash/remove stains from your clothes. Beware, They ruined some expensive shirts. They did not remove stains from the shirts (lipstick, tea stain) and after washing ironed over the stains)
