My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

I am currently renting a different room from the OP and very happy...all utilities are at official rates ...and Howard has helped me out whenever I have had problems. Easy to underestimate the value of a good landlord. Prospective tenants are welcome to PM me.

I've lived in Thailand nine years, half of those in Jomtien.  You cannot do better for the price.

I've looked at Nirun as a possible base but I won't ride a scooter or take a moto taxi.

I decided it would just be too difficult getting to and from there.

I went to a Big C extra on Klang twice during my recent trip and on one occasion had to pay a City Taxi 100 baht from 2nd road/Klang junction as I'd tried to get a baht bus for over 20 minutes with no luck.

Shame, as it does look a good value base.

I can walk from Nirun Condo to Big-C Extra in under 10 minutes. Good exercise.

Thanks !!! I also have lived at Nirun Condos for over 7 years and really like it here. The centralized location means I am 5-15 minutes from almost anywhere in Pattaya.

My concern is getting in to Soi LK Metro, Soi 7, WS etc and back to condo. If I used moto taxis I wouldn't hesitate to stay there, but I won't use them.

Maybe more baht buses will start to run further out as more development takes place?

Otherwise, the only option I can see is to use City taxis and maybe the GrabTaxi App. Just a bit expensive.

There are baht buses that ply along Pattaya Klang from Sukhumvit, they go straight up to BR, turn left & head towards WS, quite a few of them are parked near the Big C extra & look for passengers.
