A new study has revealed the link between testosterone and the risk of stroke and heart attack in older men. According to a report from Daily RX, older men that have been treated for lower testosterone levels may face a lower risk of a cardiac event.

According to the study’s author, Dr. Rajat S. Barua from the Kansas City VA Medical Center, the use of TRT, or testosterone replacement therapy is on the rise. There are a lot of conflicting opinions on the safety of TRT, and Dr. Barua aimed to address the knowledge gap with the study.

Testosterone is the main sex hormone in males, and men with low testosterone levels often report having increased energy levels, sex drive, and improved mood after receiving TRT.

Despite the benefits, some doctors still warn about the risks of TRT. Dr. Aaron Michelfelder, a physician at Loyola University Health System, stated that only men with low levels of testosterone in the first place should consider the treatment.

Dr. Barua’s study examined more than 83,000 male veterans that received TRT in the form of injections, gels, or patches over a 15-year period.

Divided into three groups, the first control group did not receive TRT while the other two did. While about 40 percent of men did not experience increased testosterone levels after treatment, the men who did were found to experience fewer deaths from all causes, and experienced a drop in heart attacks and strokes as well.

The study notes that the benefits were only present when testosterone levels were returned to normal. Patients who did not experience normalized hormone levels after the therapy saw no additional benefits. The study was published in the August edition of the European Heart Journal.

I have a few friends who take higher than HRT level doses of testosterone and they love it to pieces. I honestly think they'll be either just consistently on or just off and on for the rest of their lives. Even though these are younger guys, they still say it makes them feel like a new man, or a superhero. The stuff is powerful, power should be respected and not fucked with unless you know what you're doing.

There's been a few of these studies demonstrating the same outcome: Guys who pin testosterone and don't exercise have significantly more fat loss, muscle gain and strength gains than those who are on a strict exercise regime without it. http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM199607043350101#t=articleResults

I'm young, so no doctor authorised and monitored mostly safe testosterone injections for me... But some of you older guys should really consider it as an option, could even ending up saving you some cash on Viagra when you next go mongering because your dick is being tricked into thinking your 20 again. Although I'm not sure about importing vials even with a prescription.

Disclaimer: Any powerful and effective compound can fuck with you if you are a moron with it, although most of the time your doctor is going to make sure everything is golden.

Will be seventy in a couple months, been using androgel for over a year. Totally agree that it should be used especially by older guy's, but need to get your prostate checked beforehand. My psa came in at .05, and testosterone in the 860 range. Have a qualified doctor doing my blood work. My estrogen was a little lower on the scale, so took me off arimidex. Have lot of energy, work out five day's a week for an hour and half. The best part is, can't wait to get to pattaya for some great action
