Places to surf in Thailand?

I love to surf. Does anyone know if Thailand has any good surfing spots? I heard Nai Ham Beach was good. Was wondering if there were any other good locations from the locals. Not looking for your typical tourist spot, but a place where I can get to know the locals instead of the tourists.

i couldn't find any places in patts, but south a guy told me there was a spot.

 

someone also told me a part of Phuket as well.

Bro, the only place i found was actually Nai Harn beach.

 

A good thing is you don't gett many tourists there, and you can i hire a board from the little village.

 

But its only small at the best of times, but atleast you can say u surfed Thailand.

some guys i met have just taken a trip to cambodia surfing, not sure where tho, i was drunk when i spoke to them , might be worth googling, i thnk they were on an organised tour

witespider, thanks for the website. It was freaking great. Got all the info I needed. It indicated that the best time to surf in Phuket is from April - September. I might have to plan a trip during that time.

tomski808 - Cambodia, huh? That might be worth looking into.

funkster - i hear the same as well. I don't care for the tourist crowds. I like to get to know the locals. Share stories, surf and have a great time. You always find the best spot with the locals.

I saw some guys surfing on Kata noi beach in Phuket. Looked like a good place for it. Was in July.

The beach directly north of Patong. Called Surin I think has some good surf.
