Agent inside VT8 assured me any construction will only be a limited number of floors :-)

yeah right, low rise is the way to go like Cetus

about 4 or 5 over that time period.

a combination of humid weather and life in my shorts pocket does not serve them well, and some of them may have had a checkered past before they reached my sweaty palms

I think you need to be careful where you acquire them from

A short stroll from Thappraya to Dongtan and back this morning. Used my camera for first time this trip - though my pics won't be to the standard of some BMs ☺️

Jomtien Complex pretty much deserted with a number of empty properties.

Motorcycle shop 'with Christian values' still there, and storage.

View from Complex of Pattaya Park Tower with VT5C in front of it and VT7 in front of that:

Guess I have to take a photo of the arch:

Not a bad view for my breakfast pit-stop:

Didn't see anyone in this pool last year either. Just one mum & child in kiddies pool at back:

Dongtan MUCH quieter than this time last year. Then, all the deckchair vendors were out in force, offering drinks & wifi & all had customers.

This year all the chairs are tied up and not in use and just a few people on the beach.

Have you tried Sandbar by the Sea ? @ Dongtan Beach.

Opened just last year when I was staying at VT5 ..

Apparently doing a lot of live entertainment ..mostly Jazz.

Note that one day a week no deckchairs allowed in Jomtien, it may have been Wednesday.

That would explain the chairs :-) Still think there's a lot fewer people around than this time last year.

I noticed it after I'd had my breakfast.

I may give it a try at some point.

4 of us went to Rhompo last night.

A few bars were quite busy but most had a handful of customers at most - several no customers at all.

Girls all friendly and welcoming, though none that we thought were really BF material in the bars we stopped at.

Had a few games of free pool and left just after midnight.

Some of the bars had already closed by then.

Brief comment on bars along Thappraya near the arch:

Last year, I found Country Road to be the best place to have a few final beers before staggering back to condo. Went in this year with a couple of friends and they've either installed a new sound system or a different person is running the music. It was horribly loud! Impossible to have a conversation - we drank our one beer quickly and left. Tried once more, exactly the same. Avoided it from then on.

Country Lane (I think that's the name?) charges more for beer as they've got live bands. Always seems quite busy though.

Rumours, opposite, is generally quiet and I always found the ladies friendly. This ended up as the 'regular' place this trip. You can even listen to the bands opposite without paying the extra for the beer :-)

There are other small bars along the road now. Maybe farang owned?? Looked like some had regular ex-pat clientele while others were pretty quiet.

Owned by the same Thai owner with another on that road and one inside the Jomtien Complex. I have found a few diamonds among the ruff in these bars.

Yes, I'd heard all 3 had same owner.

A number of nice girls at 30+ who get limited custom from older ex-pats plus a few younger ones who appear from time to time.

There were at least 2 in Rumours this trip that were eminently barfineable.
