Try Dick's Café in Jomtien Complex, access from Tappraya road nearby Shenanigan's in the Condo behind VT7.

 

Fantastic food, service and location. Reasonable price and not in the middle of the bustling gay bars area of Jomtien Complex.

BTW if you walk along there alone in the early evening and dont get propositioned you must be fairly challenged in the looks department. 

 

Just back from a long stay in Jomtien... Yep U are right...  walking along that closed road during the early evening down to the 7 to catch a baht bus, I was wondering why all these young blokes were saying g'day to me... Only took me a week to work out what was up.. Yep I'm slow 555.

But other than that, I had a cracking time there and won't hesitate to go back....   loved the place

Absolute quality pics, the water immediately looks a lot cleaner. Would it be correct to assume that Jomtien as a whole is comparatively much cleaner than Pattaya.

I didn’t see rats on Jomtien Beach up to now.

I'm back in Jomtien for 2 weeks so will just note here anything else I notice.

 

Bondi has closed. For sale or For rent sign up on it.

 

There are now 2 TT Exchanges on Thappraya between the lights and the beach. One on the left just before the arch and one on the right further down towards the police box.

 

I went as far as Soi 18 on a baht bus. He did stop a couple of times as if he was hoping we'd get off but kept on going until we rang the bell.

 

Had a look at VT8. It's only about 15% sold, but there are already some resales. At least one condo available for rent at an asking price of 12000 a month.

 

If anyone has paid a deposit for Trio Gems then I would write it off. Looks pretty much abandoned & the sales office is closed.

 

The new go go in Rhompo must have closed already. At least, I couldn't find it last night and a girl in one of the bars said it had gone.

Rhompo was pretty sparse last night - unless you like the more mature lady.

Ok country road opposite number one gogo was decent when i was there in november with Young ladies, not sure how its now, i hit the ground 1 August

A friend dragged me there yesterday as he paid what he called a 'small deposit' on a condo there.

The sales office he went to has gone and a small cabin that is now signed as the office was full of junk.

There were some cars on the site, but no work was being done.

well i invested 10 bht E/W plus some foot patrol to reach my mates place next to Trio Gems..............3 buildings of about 8 floors each approx 120 ft long.

basic structure more or less complete and work going on for sure.

heard and saw workers on site and the 2 cranes in action.

still maybe a year to go but it looks like it will be completed at some stage and as i said site very much active

 

i have taken a few pics today and will post a couple later

Interesting that you did see some work going on.

My friend wanted to talk to someone in the Sales Office to get an idea of what was happening but that didn't seem to be operational - at least not when we were there.

there are 2 offices almost next to each other, didn't try them but as i said work in progress on the building i had to listen to them for 4 hours

I'm wondering if we went to the right place? I don't remember there being a building close enough to where we were to hear the construction? There was a pinkish monstrosity a little way away though.

 

O well, no big deal. My friend can sort it out if he wants.

 

Edit: I've just checked the website and the location does seem to be where we were. Website still says completion end 2016. No way!

 

I'll give friend the good news that there is work going on.

err i think Trio is on soi 16.

Actually, friend took me to Soi 18, realised it was too far then went back to 16.

Cetus..............49 floors 294 units

 

 

best not to ask how they got permission to build so high so near the beach................must have been a very very low tide when they measured up !

 

 

 

i think this one is Aeras 38 floors, 304 units around soi 17/18 area

but it's hard to tell the only pics i can find are artists impressions and all the other big buildings nearby are conveniently missing

 

 

 

 

and a big piece of clear land ominously close to view talay 8

Agent inside VT8 assured me any construction will only be a limited number of floors :-)

Jomtien seems quieter than this time last year.

 

Still easy to get a baht bus into Pattaya. Sometimes have to wait a few minutes.

Still 10 baht.

I've done a private hire back from Pattaya a few times and they've jumped at the chance to bring me when I've offered 150 baht. Even a city taxi accepted 150 - though I tend not to use them very often. A city taxi agreed 250 baht from Central to go to VT8.

 

Very easy crossing the main roads in Jomtien - not like in Pattaya.
