Flipper House

I am suprised that this hotel hasn't been mentioned.

I stayed there in October 2005 for 5 days.

I stayed in a suit that cost me 1200 a day. I originally stayed at Sabai Lodge but checked after the hotel room got me sick. Seriously, got a sore throat every morning.

BUT I liked the Flipper House. Comfortable rooms with a veranda on the 5th floor.

Pros

1) Price was still reasonable

2) Very girl friendly

3) Great location on Soi 8

4) Pool was OK

5) Large comfortable room, cable TV, large nice bed, great air conditioner

Cons

1) Restaurant downstairs was not so good

2) Slow elavator

3) Bathroom didn't have a shower curtain so the everything gets wet

4) No internet in rooms

5) Reception staff too eager to get tips. Had to count my change each time.

6) No in room safe

Another con is that it can be noisy when you want to sleep.

hi

i have stayed there many times in the past but last time i found many many problems , faulty air con , problem with bathroom door , broken bedside lamp , toilet not flushing . also much the same for my friend who was staying on a different floor . what a pity they need to do a few improvements or they will start to loss custom to the eastiny just a little down soi 7 . i had a look at the rooms there and as it is a new hotel they where great and cheaper than flipper .

oh i forgot to mention the lift was not working .

the flipper house is not a place where i would lay my head down, you can find much better for the same price...... Check out the rockhouse, or other places like it, nice large rooms, with good aircon, and no Roaches or bullshit to deal with...

my two baht

I said Jim Beam and Coke, not J & B and coke, silly TG............

I have stayed at the Flipper House many times. As long as you are in the newer rooms it is a good hotel with a nice rooftop swimming pool. However the newer hotels in soi 8 (Sunshine, Eastiny) are now better. I think the flipper house needs an overhaul to keep up.
