they all use LINE if they have a smart phone.  If not you will have to send a message, most of the time in thai, or they will call you and hang up right away so you must call them back on your dime

More smarter ones just use code before phoning you , you see a number, and screen ask  ;you accept the call ?, if you do so   you pay ...

It's been all LINE or Facebook on this trip, as opposed to some texting and phone calls in previous years.

 

Now with 3G/4G on top of wifi being prevalent, seems (in my experience the last two months) the girls use the native capabilities of LINE and FB Messenger to make data internet voice/video calls instead of using up their phone credit.
