When I tried eating bugs I just ate the whole bug. Apparently not the correct way to do it. Very crispy ;)

Freeze

Been there done that.

If they taste like crap theres a reason for it, because they feed them crap. Happy chewing. :GoldenSmile1:

Pat Roll

Hey when in Rome, or that should be Pattaya, Hang on it was Bangkok, anyway, my Thai friend bought some over and I did try them. Not something I would eat often, but something I felt I had to try,

Posted pictures on my face book page, well, the comments I got.

When I first tried them it was hard to swallow but once I had a few they are really nicely flavoured, the large ones that are all green inside were the most interesting I thought

I like the brown grass hopper looking ones that are fried in great spices. When a girl gets a bag of those I usually eat them all from her. I was drunk one night tasted them and developed a taste for them. Banana Bugs I think they are. I haven't tried a mouse yet but they tell me they are great to eat. I tried dog and it was a little bit to gammy tasting for me.

I've tried it - not my cup of tea.  Understand why its such a part of their diet (rediculously healthy for you and highly available)

Wife, a white girl, eats them almost every night when we are in town. She loves the big ones that look kinda like a huge roach. She prefers them in the wet season because she can get the females with eggs. She also likes the larvae a lot, but she has tried them all and the only one she hated was the scorpion.

It took me a while before I tried them, but the larvae do sorta taste like peanuts and the large ones are not that bad...actually just tastes like meat, but I still do not partake. The girls are always amazed watching a farang eat them though.

Captain Courageous

Dogs, Cats, Rats, most reptiles, raw Eels, various crawlies (insects), Frogs, Wood grubs (Aussie Bardi grubs are delicious raw) and Bogong Moths....."all good tucker mate"  5555

A tip, with Dogs and Rats always cook to burnt crisp, avoid their offal and well drain the carcass before cooking.

Tried the small fat larvae and the small crickety thingies my last trip, first time I ever ate bugs, that I know of atleast. ^^

The larvae wasn't really for me, but the crickets where avtually really good, tasted like awesomely seasoned batter from some fried chicken.
