From George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) rather than William P Hobby Airport (HOU)?

Sorry but the pedant in me couldn't help it.

I dunno, they have both IAH and HOU on the ad...  not of real use to me since I am on the West Coast, but thought the 997 price would be of interest to our Cowboy BM's...

Nice! They've already gone down on their prices. When they first announced the service they were a little higher.

Now, if they could only speed the plane up and reduce the flight time to something less than 16 hours they would be onto something!

IAH people.

If I was still living there I'd definitely give them a go.

Easy 1 stops to BKK from IAH now.

1. United via Tokyo

2. Qatar via Doha

3. EVA via Taipei

4. Korean Via Seoul

5. Emirates via Dubai

6. Turkish Airlines via Istanbul

7. Singapore via Moscow then Singapore (2)

8. Lufthansa via London or Paris, "I think"

that's the interesting part about flying to Thailand from the midwest, you can go either way in about the same time...

one of these days I want to go east from the west coast, just for the heck of it.

IAH to TPE is a premium non stop product unavailable elsewhere and can be marketed as so. IAH to BKK is a one stop product that has to fight for customers against other good one stop routes via Korea, Japan, Qatar, UAE,, etc plus jolly good two stop services like the Singapore route via Moscow*.

ANA is now serving IAH to NRT onward to BKK. Good flight times as well. Leaves IAH at 11:15am, arrives BKK at 9:35pm.

UA is so fucked now.

I have been raving about this new option from IAH since i first read about it around the 1st of the year.

Shortest flight time at 22hr out 19hr back door to door BKK.

True premium economy for my 6'4" 300lb self.

Overnight flight arriving to BKK at 11:30am.

Depart BKK 4pm rather than 6:30am.

Unfortunantly can't fly out until November 4.
