OnePlus One phone work in Thailand?

Hi all.

can anyone please tell me if they know if a UK OnePlus One phone will work in Thailand?

It's a great phone, but I know there are some restrictions with it with 4G and some things that make it not compatible.  I'm not bothered about 4G speeds, but 3g, and obviously the ability to make phone calls.  As far as I can tell it's not for sale over there yet

I'm planning on getting one of these sim cards

http://store.dtac.co.th/en/happytouristsim#responsive-tabs1

"Support 3G 850/1800/2100MHz"

I've googled the answer to see what it does support and found this

https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/oneplus-one-carrier-compatibility.15397/

. First Oneplus One supported network frequency bands:

  • GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
  • WCDMA 1/2/4/5/8 (2100/1900/1700/850/900 MHz)
  • LTE 1/3/4/7/17/38/40 (2100 MHz FDD/1800 MHz FDD/1700 MHz FDD/2600 MHz FDD/700 MHz band 17 FDD/2600 MHz TDD/2300 MHz TDD)

So I see 850 and 1800 are in the GSM part, and 850 and 2100 are in the WCDMA part.

I 'think' WCDMA is 3G....so guessing its alright?  Do these cards mean they'll use any or all 3 of these, or do you have to get a specific card to go?

Worst case I'll take an old Sony phone but that one doubles up as a really good camera too

In thailand 3G frequencys are like this.

12call use 900MHz, 2100MHz

True use 850MHz, 2100MHz

Dtac use 850Mhz, 2100MHz

I am sure you can use your phone unless phone has country lock.

I do not think oneplus one phone has country lock.

P.S.

4G service is available in Truemove network.

Its 4G band is band 1.

Truemove 4G service is allowed in postpay.

Thanks - sounds like I'll be fine then :)  It's definately not provider locked.....it shouldn't be country locked either (bought phone direct from oneplus store on an invite only system at the time)
