Advice for accommodation

Recommended Posts

I'm living in BKK and have an opportunity for a long weekend in Pattaya during July.

I want to experience a little of everything on offer - Soi 6, LK etc so want to stay somewhere central, reasonably nice and with no joiner fees.  I don't have a specific budget, but was thinking that anything up to 3000 per night would be ok.  Having said that if I can get somewhere for 1000 I'll happily spend the balance in other ways:)  Somewhere with a pool, restaurant and obviously air con.  Ceiling mirrors optional:)

Any suggestions/advice for me?

Do you guys generally book somewhere in advance or just sort out something when you arrive?

If you book in advance which site to you use?  Agoda?

Page 10 gets good reviews on here, central to anywhere really, Personally like the flipper house on soi 7 nowhere near 3000b. No idea about prices for the Hilton but if it`s for a few days from bkk why not?

Booked my first 3 day using Agoda, sometimes use their sister company Booking.com.

If you use either of these sites go through the hotels link on this site, they get a 3% commission, so long as you don't come of the page, then return later.  ( i browse, copy the address bar of the hotel i want then come back here to the hotel link on top of the page then paste in the link, then book)

Page 10 looks good and is just under 1700/night with breakfast

Flipper House is between 1100 and 1400/night with breakfast depending on room type (standard /deluxe)

Both are guest friendly?

Almost all hotels are guest friendly.
Exceptions are the larger chains and hotels catering to other Asians.
Even then I have had no problem with Hilton or Mercure.
My suggestion is to book direct and if in doubt send an email and just ask, print the email and bring it.

As for location, just about anywhere between Walking Street and Pattaya Klang and from beach road to Soi Buakhou (a bit past if near LK)
A few of my favorites:

  • Secrets: Prime location right in Walking Street area (under 1,000)
  • China Garden: Soi Lengkee near LK (7-900 baht)
  • Pattaya Bay Resort: Tucked away behind Avenue Plaza @ 2nd Rd / Soi 15 (~1200 baht), been a while and things change.

If I know Flipper house 1360 BHT for standard. This hotel is guest friendly. I think 1100 is impossible (maybe 14 for 10 days low season only).

3000 a night!!!!!!! do you want to buy the place?

Seriously, that's a lot of dosh mate, shop around, you'll get great bargain now, it's low season and good luck with the mirrors on the ceiling.

Cheers

Alan.

for good accommodation at sensible prices located on Soi Chaiyapoon www.englishrosepattaya.com

Cheers thajec.  1100 was the price on Agoda, but I dont think it includes taxes/changes.  (They should just quote the full price)

Yes both guest friendly, never stayed in Page 10,was just going by other BM`s posts on here. Have stayed in flipper house ,good location and restaurant pool etc.

You could add a couple of places on soi Honey to your list to look at. Bay breeze and 24/7 see review in this section by Lottolee winner on 24/7 looks good and fairly new.

Areca Lodge - good rooms and a nice, big pool.

LK Metropole - somewhat dated but nice rooms with a small but decent pool.

Both are close to each other in a good location.

LK Empress - really nice rooms and pool, great location but not sure if less than 3000 is possible.

Cheers
