I will be in Pattaya for about two weeks and going to stay at April Suites, but just signed up for the IHG card and can stay at the Holiday Inn for 3 nights free.

I travel light so no biggie to change hotels and the Holiday Inn looks good! Not Hilton good but better than April Suites, LOL

Is it girl friendly? If not, may just use those nights state side.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn for one night last summer, and can confirm it's girl friendly. Ironically, the only reason I ended up staying there is my preferred hotel (former Dusit D2 Barraquda) was booked for the first night i arrived in Patts, so one night at holiday inn for me. For any Yanks, the Holiday Inn brand is pretty budget basic -- gives you the basics, pretty plain. I like(d) the Barraquda because it's smaller, acts like a boutique hotel and is I'd assume on the upper-scale side of Patts lodging (like a W hotel or similar brand in the US/europe).

Although I didn't bring a bargirl home to Holiday Inn that night (did ST and went home solo to sleep like a zombie), I saw multiple guys bring in BGs with no hassle, and even ran into one insane 19 yr old stunner in the hallway post "visit," and actually propositioned her for a ST (a first -- sleazy, yes...which is why you save it for the stunners).

So to my great surprise, the Holiday Inn in Patts is pretty impressive -- large, modern, incredibly clean, nice facilities, and pretty well run for a hotel that size. Baraquda's facilities are fading fast and the rooms are pretty damp and musty, and the in-room showers make the humidity/dampness effect 100x worse. Once I arrived at the Baraquda after one night at Holiday Inn, I was ready to cancel and head back -- but had booked non-refundable thru Agoda.

I just scheduled a spontaneous trip to patts -- leaving one week from sunday -- and booked 8 nights at holiday inn. I look forward to licking my barfine from heavens agogo in the shower and laying her down on a nice bed with clean sheets soon enough.

Thanks Golden Gate! Holiday Inn seems to missing a review on this board, so if you have time when you get back?!

I agree Holiday Inn is a tired brand in the US but they do have some nice properties overseas. I got the IHG credit card just because they give a free night annually and just a $49 annual fee. That free night can be used at any of their brands including the ICs!

The Holiday Inn Pattaya looks decent especially the executive tower that has an infinity pool. I think you need to stay in those rooms to use that nicer pool?

BMs have done numbers of reviews about Holiday Inn here:

Thanks Matrix, I missed these when I did a search. That IHG card is the best thing I have done! Hope to be lucky and get an upgrade. That executive tower infinity pool looks nice! Holiday Inns usually suck but the Pattaya one looks nice. I know they also have a cool Cuban themed bar there.

Nickatnight,

I checked her in with me arranged via bar for her to come to airport at BKK meet me, so I guess the hotel really had no option. But it was obvious while I was there that some others were taking girls to rooms on a nightly basis, hope this helps

Looks like the reward rooms are standard rooms for 25k points. Having the credit card gives you executive plat status. That status is suppose to give you an upgrade if available. I have enough for 4 free nights.

I wonder if booking my first night as a paid room in the executive tower would give me that room the whole time (5 nights)? I can not imagine them telling me after the first night I need to move. Thoughts?

I stayed 7 nights in the Exec wing top floor where the Exec club is, which is really good with evening complimentary drinks and snacks, staff are really good. You go outside on the deck and great views. I booked the Exec wing through Agoda and had to leave a couple of days early, the staff explained they could not refund the 2 nights I lost due to not booking with hotel direct. I said I would book direct next time and they said you will be able to get a better deal and be assured of getting Exec wing and reasonable rate for what that's worth. I am about to book for 10 days in November so be interesting to see how I go. But I cannot recommend the place highly enough
