My opinion is that it has now become an integral part of the board's success....After I have finished going through the new posts I hang out in the Shoutbox....No need to visit other forums...

Hi,

 

I would like to see it as an option that I can turn off in the control panel.

 

I am out in the boonies and on dial up. It is slow enough as it is with graphics turned off without the chat having to be updated all the time.

 

I run with Flash, JavaScript and graphics turned off and the pages still take a while to load. In order to use the "Collapse" button at the top right, I have to reload the page with JavaScript enabled just to click it off.

 

Sooooo, if you continue with the Shoutbox can you please also have it as an option I can turn off.

Have you tried viewing this site in lo-fi version? Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "lo-Fi" link in the centre of the page. Apologies if you have already done this, just trying to help.

You made my day. Firefox carved itself with 120M in my System. Now I even can browse the site using lynx.
