Do some research on all cockpits emergency equipment. Could be his nose hair trimmer was beyond the allowable length.

In America, some commercial pilots are armed, don't understand the issue in London over a knife one of the flight crew had.

I had a right row at Delhi airport because a multi tool I was carrying was prohibited, every though it had cleared security at UK, Dubai, Malaysia and BKK.

I had to call the airline to put it in checked baggage in the end.
