He was carrying 50,000 Thai Baht and 2,500 USD.

 

That's a lot of money to carry for a night out in Pattaya.

 I wonder about these guys claiming to be carrying around lots of money.   The best I can figure is that they don't trust the security of their hotel and won't leave anything valuable there, preferring to keep all their cash with them at all times.

Sometimes I wonder if these guys are bullshitting when they say they got robbed of these large amounts. Perhaps after they get robbed and they go make a report they bump the real amount up. Why say I got robbed of 2000Bt, better say I got robbed 50,000Bt. If the cops catch the robbers maybe the robbers have a shitload of baht they being robbing from other bastards and the cops hand you over the 50,000Bt you say you lost. 

Maybe he is a billionaire who wanted to spend lods of money at one night to help pattaya economy and the girls and he was coward to spend that much money sober so he had drunk first then was robbed....!!!

That is a hell of a lot of beer from 7-11. 

So would it have been okay if he had 2000 baht and got robbed? That's not the point is it ? Someone got beaten and robbed and that's not good for any of us mongers ...it could be any of us next.

They caught a chap a while ago making a fraudulent claim, his nationality escapes me...
