just got back from another fantastic blow out in one of my favorite hotels the lk empress,

only one problem was the swimming pool was closed for about 5 days for some work that needed to be done,

but turned out fine because i could go and use other lk pools for a dip as i really enjoy a nice cool swim when in patts.

would always recommend this hotel and other lk hotels i got a fantastic and best deal though Hotels.com

I am booked mid may.  Its my favorite also. I always get a room next to the pool. and I am in and out all day.   Do you know if the work will be finished when I arrive?

yes mate i had 3 days in it last week before i came home all done and brand new again

Yes good hotel...stayed 2 times before and will stay again for New year's eve.

Have been looking at The Empress for my stay in Feb next year, do you guys know if the pool gets the sun during the day? 

Great hotel but the pool has no restaurant or bar.

 

Poor but the pool is nice.

 

So you are around the pool or in it & you can not get food or a drink.

I stayed there twice, about 18 months - 2 years ago. From memory the pool is sunny most of the day. Nice sea views over BR too.

I have also stayed there a few times and always works out great. Last time I even got a free upgrade to one of the beach side suites. From memory I think it's sunny most of the day and it's only later in the evening the sun gets blocked by some building.

Last  Feb Generally we didnt get the sun until after 930am then ok until 1ish then I find most people move chairs to the other side of pool by the gym to get the late afternoon sun. But still a great spot to be. Enjoy.

Room service is great and food and is served night & day in the buffet area.

A quick visit to the Family Mart in the hotel will give you as much drink as you need.

 

Pool is good though I prefer the Beach Front Balcony rooms to have a drink with my teerak de jour.
