Lost my passport right before booking my flights

Featured Replies

I've lost my passport and was planning on booking my next pattaya trip on wednsday. I have got a pic of my passport on my laptop, so does anybody know if the passport number changes when you get a replacement? I just want to pay it off now so I know  it's actually happening :D It's a british passport if that matters

At least in Finnish passport number of passport will change every time you apply for new one. Think this is common to all passports. also if your old passport is stolen/disappeared when notify police/customs agency apply for new they will put notice to interpol ban-list so you or anyone else cant never use old passport for travel anymore. Where do you need your passport number? usually full name, and day of birth is enough to book flights/hotels.

Ahhh that's awesome! It's my first time booking this solo so wasn't sure about the process. If they do ask for my passport number I'll just put in the original and change it on a later date.

When I book on websites they give you the option of quoting your passport number.  Apparently it makes checking in quicker or something.  I never provide it though and just present passport at the airport.

You won't need the passport number to book the flight. You can give it early but don't HAVE to give it until online check-in.

I've just renewed my UK passport. The number changes.

I was astonished that the new one arrived only ten days after I posted the application!

You complete a form online. Print off a copy to sign. Send it off with your old passport and 2 photos.

I paid extra for more pages and the £3 for secure return - it was a Courier. I also sent it next day guaranteed to make sure.

I think when I added everything up it was just under £100 all told.

Edit: just realised you lost your passport. This means you'll have to get your photos etc signed off by someone who knows you who is a 'professional' of some sort. Doctor, teacher etc. Makes the application a little more complicated so may take a bit longer.

Why do you need a Passport to book a flight..........??

I have given DOB a couple times over the years but never Passport number

You don't need a passport to book a flight, but it is information that some airlines ask for, when booking

If they need your passport no. you can just key in your old previous number if you remember or your ID no.

Call the hotline and update your new passport no. when you receive it.
