General information about DVDs are the six region codes which I’ve listed below.

R1 Region 1   U.S.A., U.S. Territories and Canada

R2 Region 2   Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland

R3 Region 3 ~ Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Thailand

R4 Region 4 ~ Mexico, South and Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Caribbean

R5 Region 5 ~ Russia, Eastern Europe, India, Africa (excluding South Africa), North Korea, Mongolia

R6 Region 6 ~ China

 Blu-rays have three region codes.

Region A consists of North American, Central America, South America, East Asia (except for China) and South East Asia.

Region B is Europe, Africa, Middle East, New Zealand, and of course, Australia.

Region C is for everywhere else, but mainly China, Russian and India.

All DVDs and Blu-ray to copy protected but it’s pretty easy to get around if you know what you doing that is one really annoying one called Cinavia Protection which places a watermark on the original disc which when the film is playing it looks for if does not see it will mute the film 15 to 20 minutes in approximately.

There are two ways of getting round the Cinavia Protection methods one having old player or software. Here is a web link that will list players and software.

Method 2 use software to get round it Anydvd HD also get round region coding for both Blu-ray and DVD.

Here’s a clever bit you can use software above to create an ISO which is basically a select copy of the original disc in a file format. Using software to create a virtual CD drive on your computer and connect it to your TV by HDMI or if your TV has a PC connector. This will save you a lot of blank discs which is okay for DVD but can be a very expensive proposition for Blu-ray.

Software is called DAEMON Tools which have a free version or paid version.

If there any questions please post and I will try me best to answer.
