I walked by early yesterday after the rain,

and when passing  by this overgrown wasteland to my surprise saw a furry striped coloured wild piglet

and a dog at the roadside just 3-4 meters from me having a standoff watching each other!

Any update on any wild pig sightings in Pattaya?

"Recently a pack of 10 wild pigs have been joining the stray dogs for their daily meal and the two species appear to get on with each other very well.

 

Khun Samorn cannot explain where the pigs came from and why they suddenly appeared in recent weeks."

The overgrown abandoned plot that housed the wild pigs and dogs last year has been bulldoozed down, not a sign of wildlife there when I walked by last time!

A few years back when I was living around soi Bongkot there was an old fat sow who hung out with the soi dogs, used to see her every day with the dogs. But she got hit by a car and the locals rigged up a tent affair and she laid in the tent for years. I haven't seen her or the tent for a long while so I guess she died. Anyway, it seems that pigs & dogs can get on OK together.

They're never far away, just not mad enough to come out when the 'Mad Dogs and Englishmen' are in the ascendancy.

 

These used to come round the house I built just outside Pattaya before it had a wall.
