Evening guys. I'm looking for a bit of advice on the 3 hotels. Basically I'm torn between china garden hotel n sutus court 1 on my next trip. I want a place with a pool which sutus court has and china garden doesn't. But china garden has better reviews and has a safe in the room. I've heard it is possible to pay to use a pool close by each day. Can anyone confirm this?

Also is it worth the extra money at china court paying for the jacuzzi room?

Or should I just stay at destiny? I've stayed there before and like it but it was a bit loud.

You can pay for using other pools but personally if it's high on your list of things you want i would just book somewhere with one.How much is your budget?any area in particular you want to stay?anything else you require from a hotel?

Budget ideally is about 1300 a night.

A safe in the room is a must. A balcony would also be good.

I stayed a couple of nights this February in Robin's Nest on Soi Diana. I was pleasantly surprised by the place, very big rooms, clean, good air con, toiletries provided etc.  Room 9 & 10 on 3rd Floor had balconies overlooking the street but were not at all noisy at night. 

Cost was 900 baht. Didn't include breakfast but the restaurant downstairs is very good and rightly popular with the ex pat crowd.

 

I'd highly recommend the place and will use it again. 

Yes you can use the pool across the road if your staying at the China Garden

 

A lot of people love to live out a bit of a fantasy of the Jacuzzi room and enjoy sitting out on the balcony, if you dont need a balcony and cant see yourself with a couple of honey's in the tub then a standard room would be great!

 

Yes there are safe's in every room that can hold a 15-16inch laptop etc .... 24 hour reception

 

We are close enough to LK Metro to enjoy the area without any loud music through the night.

I stayed 5 weeks at the China Garden in 2013, I would book a normal room in my view the jacuzzi room is something if your having 2 women back to your room at the same time.

Depends how long your staying of course.  The bed was big and excellent in my normal room with nice sheets, not the synthetic shit that a lot of cheapskate guesthouse owners use.

The safe is big though the air-con in my room was nosy even though the staff looked at it a few times it would go nosy again to the extent that sometimes I would turn it off so I could go to sleep.

 there's a video of a similar room on YouTube.  There's a big flat-screen TV in the rooms as well it runs rings around places which I wont mention, Ive stayed at 5 star hotels as well in my mind China should be looked on as an almost 5 star guesthouse. It would be perfect with good no nosy air-con and if the minor bug problem was sorted, though my experience is two years out of date.

 

Was your air con always listening in to your phone calls and rooting through your belongings?

Yuri my on-site Western manager usually responds in 24-48 hours, he manages the Steak-house restaurant at night as well.

I have stayed at china garden many times Yuri is great for emailing back had to change my dates 3 times was no problem. The bathroom are great big enough for 3 great fun with the rain shower. The air con can be a bit noisy at start up but after room is cool lower speed the noise is less. Great place and staff

I can't comment on the other rooms mentioned but Sutus Court 1 gets a thumbs up from me.

Stayed there 4 times & going again in July.

I have stayed in Both. CG is different class, A few  Bhat more but worth every penny.

Safe, secure, large rooms , clean, in room safe and great restaurant downstairs, balcony, (not in all rooms) 

Jacuzzi in a few rooms which is a must in pattaya !!

Cleaned daily to a high standard and Yuiri downstairs always helpful as are the smiling staff.

Sutus is all right but its like Primark and M&S when you compare them.

Really useful video and review, china gardens is slowly getting to the top of the list for possible accommodation. Can you book it via agoda or only direct?

E-mail them direct, quick response but you have to book in advance as rooms go there pretty quickly due to all the above mentioned factors.

Miles ahead of Sutus court in my opinion after having stayed in both.

My mate stayed there last year said it was not the best, yes cheap but you get what you pay for, he wouldn't go back.

Opey is quite dated, big rooms but old . Decent pool though. China garden is much better

Agree with the above comment about Opey de Place, from memory i think the 'double bed' was 2 singles held together, but during some action I found it moving away from the wall towards the middle of the room. Convenient location though. Stayed at china Garden as well in the jacuzzi room or the big room as it was sold to me, well shocked to walk in and find out it was such a big room in had a jucuzzi in it!!! Very nice rooms, fixtures fittings etc and as I didn't use the pool for an extra £5 a night?(rough guess) would stay at China garden.

I wonder where Mr B ended up staying? Hmmmm.......
