A question for ex-pats. I turn 60 fairly soon and have some information from a mate that health insurance from some companies is not available to ex-pats over 60.

Is this true ? I have search the forums but cannot find anything so any replies would be appreciated.

BTW I am not an ex-pat yet but hope to be soon living in Thailand.

Some companies, such as BUPA, will continue cover beyond 60 only if you are insured with them beforehand.

I remember Udontony mentioning Thai Life as being good for this. Don't know if you need to already have the policy in place earlier or not.

I am interested also but only in my 40s. Plan to live in Pattaya soon. Any idea of costs?

Looking to take care of must things out of pocket but want coverage for cancer, heart attract or other major illness. I hear many policies exclude cancer?
