- Internal flight coverage is pretty good in Vietnam with frequent flights to many cities. The price is reasonable and airfare can be altered without any difficulty

Vietnam Airlines is the dominant and exclusive air carrier on domestic Vietnam air routes with regular flights to over 15 destinations. Vietnam Airlines flies a modern fleet of Boeing 777 and 767 aircraft, Airbus 321 and 320 aircraft

- Trains prove a good option for travelers to see more of the countryside in Vietnam. Vietnam Railways System (VRS) has been the main service of domestic train. With its implementation in almost every provinces and cities in Vietnam and activity scope of 2.652 km of railway, VRS offers trips on newer trains equipped with modern air-conditioned cars and berths for comfortable overnight trips

Good time to travel in Vietnam is from September to June. However, Vietnam has three different regions – the North, the Central and the South – each with different weather patterns and different rainy seasons. This means that there is neither a best time nor a worst time to visit Vietnam. Hot summer or cold winter is not that a big deal. Beaches such as Halong bay, Hoi an, Nha trang, Mui ne - Phan thiet, Phu quoc are always available. Sapa and Dalat highland offer great places for cool temperature. You can find your favourite kind of weather all year round!

The hotel prices are way way way over the top, the Visa Info is good but be aware the going rate for Visa on arrival is around $16 most charge around $40....

Is there a policy on this type of post? Board members sharing info is the correct way forward, this is "cheap advertising" at members expense perhaps a charge should be made and the money used for say The Pattaya Orphanage???

thanks for the information on traveling etc. me and a close friend been looking at going for a year now, and will probably be going at the latter part of the year next year.

love to hear boardies experiences of the place.

Went to Vietnam Jan 08 and for its worth the last time I was there I was there was in April 72....

I visited Siagon, Danang, Hoi and Hue had a simply brilliant time, great food, great bars and met a couple of really decent girls for free well not entirely we had dinner a few drinks did some bars and sight sighting etc etc and had some great sex...

Went back in March 08 with No 1 for his 18th Birthday Pressie...

Went to Saigon had an even better time as i knew all the bars to hang out in, found better eating places a lot cheaper and left the girls alone but know where to find them now....

Next Stop Nha Trang great beaches, clean sea, wonderful scenery, a bit like Pattaya was 20 years ago, a few bars with action but you have to find them, some excellent places to eat and eating out in decent place steak etc a few beers never went over $20 for 2 of us anywhere, average was $14 for two...

Beach Nha Trang

Went on a day trip to the islands full day out pick up from hotel including lunch free bar and snorkelling gear all of $7 each...

Island Visit...

_MG_2145.jpg

Beer $1 a bottle...

Free Bar but you had to swim for it, I can't

_MG_2172.jpg

Then onto Hoi an nice and laid back the beach is a nice cycle ride out of town beach shacks for a large beer at $1 or so a bottle, seafood a decent meal $3 I like Hoi An found some great bars and a lovely woman....

The River View from our hotel...

_MG_2564.jpg

Next Hue not the best place but if you want to see the battlefields of the Vietnam War a good place to base yourself on...

We did the DMZ Tour and saw most of the sites going again Dec 08 this time we will hire a car and guide if you do the bus $11 for a full day out with guide you will see all main areas and the tunnels worth the money just wander round this place...

Kho San the area of worst fighting and the Hu 1H

_MG_3054.jpg

The memorial Building has some great artifacts in it, sicko part GI Dog Tags...

DSCF1292.jpg

The Tunnels an incredible place to visit...

DSCF1087.jpg

They are tiny when you get down to 20 meters underground...

_MG_1780.jpg

My friend is coming out with me in Dec he is meeting his TGF in Bangkok then we are going into Laos for three weeks then onto Vietnam for 3 weeks back into Thailand for the festive season and I may go back to Vietnam for another month or so in January 09...

Thailand is getting really expensive hotels are way OTT in the prices they are asking, (I have my own place outta pattaya on long term rent) I stay in decent hotel in Saigon for under 950 THB about 360 THB in Nha Trang 850 THB in Hoi An with swimming pool and beautiful gardens by the river and 950 THB Hue...

A decent girl is about $20 but you need a room for her so the plan is find a $5 a night hotel plenty about and book 2 rooms, personally I have never paid for it, met a girl and took it from there....

And a rare piccy of one my ladys..

Mylady.jpg

Well worth a visit but watch the rainy season it can get a bit hairy, get off the beaten track and you will find a whole new dimension to mongering you never knew existed...

Sorry don't know how you get a title to the piccies, but may have solved it...
