Hmm... too much of this being reported recently. They are shooting their tourist industry in the foot with a magnum.

Maybe, but I don't think it'll hurt tourism as much as fears of political unrest and monetary policies.

Many potential tourists probably don't read Pattaya One news, especially people from China, India, Russia, etc. So many are unaware of these types of incidents.

And even if they did, it's human nature to disregard incidents like these, just like the jet ski scams. The classic "sucks to be him, won't happen to me" mentality.

If I am staying in the touristic areas of Thailand I wouldn't dream of renting anything other than a hotel room or a beach chair. I use the baht bus or walk. I am coming to Thailand for well over 20 years, have a Thai wife and together we have a nice house up North, but in the tourist areas I mistrust all of them. Maybe I am too careful, but beter safe than sorry.

I don't know mate. Social media is a powerful tool. These news stories might not get reported in other Countries but the word spreads other ways.

It's a pity they have this 'pack' mentality because they can be so kind.  Of course good deeds very rarely make the news.
