Anyone flown Viet Jet? Their flight schedule from BKK to SGN works well with my itinerary, and the price is very reasonable (US $66, one way).

I flew VietJet from BKK to Hanoi last spring.  Had no problems at all, standard sort of experience.  The airplane was actually better furnished than the Thai flight I took from Beijing to BKK earlier that trip.
