Want to change to Picasa but have a few problems

Hi Gentlemen

 

I installed Picasa which found a lot of old photos from years ago which was good.I think I will run Picasa as my photo album only I have a couple of problems I need a bit of help with

 

When I installed Picasa it doubled up on every folder with one folder containing a few more photo than the other one eg Thailand 1980 contains 700 photo,the next folder Thailand 1980 contains 715 photos.Will  the folders be the same plus 15.In other words can I delete the folder with  700 keep the folder with 715 and I will not be deleting any photos.I have got 100s in folders and cannot go through every one 

 

My main problem is  how to I get a photo onto my desktop and  is there a resizer in Picasa.With the windows program I could just send it to the desktop,or maybe resize and send it to the desktop.The only way I can figure it out in Picasa is by send the photo in attachment to my self

When i installed Picassa many years ago, i had the same problem, it doubled up on all my photos of which i had a few thousand. I spent ages deleteing the needless copies.

 

I understood that more recent updates of picassa did not double up.

 

After getting some software like ACDSee Photocanvas I deleted Picassa.
